PROCLAMATION.
Extending the limits of the Otago Gold Field.
By His Honor George Turnbull, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago in Council.
WHEREAS it is desirable to alter and extend the limits of the "Otago Gold Field," so as to include therein the area of land hereinafter described. Now, therefore, I, George Turnbull, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Province, by virtue and in exercise of the powers delegated to the Executive Council of the said Province in this behalf, by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand in Council, under the authority of "The Gold Fields Act Amendment Act, 1867," and of any and every other power in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that all that area hereinafter described shall henceforth be included within and form part of the "Otago Gold Field," that is to say—
All that area in the Province of Otago, Colony of New Zealand, containing by estimation twenty-eight thousand (28,000) acres, more or less. Boundary lines as follows :—Commencing at Kakanui Peak, thence north-east along the present boundary of the Gold Field to a point due north from Scout Hill, or Trig. Station S; thence due south through said Trig. Station S, to a point due west from Trig. Station D, Kauroo District; thence due east through said Trig. Station D to a point due north from the north-west corner of section 1, block XV., Otepopo District (Fenwick's pre-emptive right); thence due south to the said corner; and westerly round section 2, said block, to said section 1; thence due south along the boundary of said section 1 to its south-west corner; and thence in a southerly direction to the north-west corner of section 3, said block; thence due south to the north-east corner of section 4, said block; thence due west along the northern boundary of said section 4 to its north-west corner; thence due south to a point due east from Trig. Station P, Otepopo District; thence due west through said Trig. Station P to the present boundary of Gold Field; and thence in a north-westerly direction to the starting point.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago in the presence of D. Mackeller, and J. Green, Esquires, two of the Members of the Executive Council of the said Province, being also Members of Provincial Council this fourth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act, 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act, and the Gold Fields Act Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease
