CLYDEVALE ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the electors of the Clydevale Road
District, held at Clydevale Station on the 10th
ultimo, Messrs. James R. Mitchell and John Angus
were appointed members in lieu of those retiring by
rotation; and at a meeting of the board held on the 22nd
instant, Mr. James R. Mitchell was elected chairman for
the year, and Mr. John M. Ritchie, member in place of
Mr. Angus, who resigned.

PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby Given that the nomination
of candidates for election to the Office of Councillor
for South Ward, in room of Henry John Walter, resigned
(elected mayor), will be declared on Friday, the 6th day
of August, instant, at the Terrace of the Provincial
Council Chambers, Water-street, at the hour of 12
o'clock noon.
Nominations in the form of Schedule D of the "Otago
Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865," may be lodged
at the Town Clerk's Office, Manse-street (where blank
forms may be obtained), on or before noon of the day
herein fixed for the declaration.

NOTICE TO IMMIGRANTS FROM GERMANY
IN OTAGO.
LETTERS sent from this Province by Immigrants
from Germany to their friends there frequently
miscarry, from being indistinctly addressed and insuffi-
ciently stamped, the Emigration Agent in Germany re-
commends that such letters be in future sent to the Im-
migration Officer, Dunedin, who will transmit them under
cover to the former, for distribution, free of expense.

of stakes with four wires, three sod bank, and double
ditch.

THE temporary appointment of an Assistant Engineer
in the Provincial Engineer's Department is to be
made. Applications, with certificates, will require to be
sent, addressed to Provincial Engineer, and marked
"Assistant Engineer," on or before 10th August next.

£100 R E W A R D.-
WHEREAS some evil disposed person or persons did,
on the night of the 11th, or on the morning of the
12th July, 1875, break the lock used for securing the
switches of the Green Island Branch Railway, and also
so place the said switches as to cause on the said 12th July
the 7.30 Green Island train to be turned from the main
line to the said branch line, notice is hereby given that the
above reward of one hundred pounds sterling will be paid
to any person or persons, not being in any way implicated,
who will give such information as will lead to the convic-
tion of the offenders.

LOST from the Survey Camp, McCormack's Creek,
Shag Valley, in December last, a Bay Saddle
Mare, branded XH, or cross before H, on off shoulder,
and standing about 15 hands in height.
The above reward will be paid if brought to Naseby,
or half that amount if such information is given as will
lead to recovery.
