one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven constitute
and appoint all the other lands therein described, in-
cluding amongst other lands the lands hereinafter
described to be a Gold Field under the provisions of
the "Gold Fields Act 1866," to be called "Otago
Gold Field:"
And whereas by the "Gold Fields
Act Amendment Act 1867" it is enacted that within any
Province in which by any Act or Ordinance it is provided
that the Superintendent shall in the administration of the
government thereof act by and with the advice and con-
sent of an Executive Council it shall be lawful for the
Governor in Council under his hand and under the Public
Seal of the Colony from time to time as he may see fit
to delegate to the Executive Government for the time being of
such Province subject or not to any restrictions or limita-
tions as he may think fit or any of such powers vested in
the Governor or the Governor in Council by the "Gold
Fields Act 1866" as under or by virtue of the one hun-
dred and ninth section of the said Act may be delegated
by the Governor in Council in like manner to revoke
any such delegation: And whereas by an Ordinance of
the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Pro-
vince of Otago intituled the "Executive Council Ordi-
nance 1861" it is provided that the Superintendent of
the said Province shall in the administration of the
government thereof act by and with the advice and
consent of an Executive Council: And whereas the
Governor hath with the advice and consent of the Execu-
tive Council of New Zealand and in pursuance of the
power and authority for that purpose vested in him by
the "Gold Fields Act 1866" and subject to its provi-
sions delegated unto the Executive Government for the
time being of the Province of Otago all such powers
vested in the Governor or the Governor in Council by
the said last mentioned Act as under or by virtue of the
one hundred and ninth section of the said last mentioned
Act may be delegated by the Governor in Council to have
held and exercised the said powers within the said Pro-
vince of Otago: And whereas the said lands hereinafter
described are Crown lands, subject to be dealt with under
the provisions of the said sixteenth section of the "Gold
Fields Act 1866," and the said lands are now, or lately
were, held under a lease for Depasturing purposes, issued
under the "Otago Waste Lands Act 1866:" And
whereas the Executive Government of the Province of
Otago have determined to cancel the said lease as to so
much and such part of the lands held under the same as
are comprised within the area hereinafter described:
Now therefore, I, James Macandrew Superintendent
of the Province of Otago by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Province and by virtue and in exercise of the powers
delegated to the Executive Government of the said Pro-
vince of Otago in this behalf by His Excellency the
Governor of New Zealand in Council, under the authority
of the "Gold Fields Act Amendment Act 1867," and of
any and every other power in anywise enabling me in this
behalf, do hereby cancel the said lease, in so far as the
lands comprised within the area hereinafter described are
affected by the said lease, but no further or otherwise
(that is to say):β
All that area in the Province of Otago, colony of New
Zealand containing by estimation five hundred and
twenty-five (525) acres, more or less, situate in Run 199
Teviot District, boundary lines as follows: commencing
at a point on the Clutha River bearing 268deg. 42min.
from the north-west corner of section 1 Block I. said
District; thence easterly to the said corner; thence
easterly round the outside boundaries of sections 1, 2, 3,
4, 5 and 6, said Block to the south-west corner of section
3; thence westerly bearing 268deg. 42min. to a point ten
(10) chains distant from the east bank of the Clutha River;
thence south keeping ten (10) chains distant from the
said River, to a point bearing 100deg. 54min. on the
north-west corner of section (10) said block; thence south-
easterly to the said corner, and following in a south-
easterly direction round the outside boundaries of
section 10, to its south-west corner; thence southerly to
the north-west corner of section 8, said block; thence in
a south-easterly direction round the outside boundaries of
sections 8 and 7, to the south-west corner of said section
8; thence bearing 102deg. 38min. to the Clutha River,
and thence northerly along the eastern bank of the said
River to the starting point.

Seal of the Province of Otago, in presence of
Donald Reid and James Green, Esquires,
Members of the Executive Council of the said
Province, being also Members of the Provincial
Council thereof, this 16th day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

PROCLAMATION
To revoke a Proclamation setting apart Lands in the Tua-
peka West District for alteration on deferred payment.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superinten-
dent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the 16th day of
September, 1873, certain lands in the Tuapeka
West District were set apart for occupation on deferred
payments: And whereas it is recommended by the Pro-
vincial Council of Otago that the said proclamation be
revoked, in so far as section 32, block II, Tuapeka West
District is concerned.
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent
of the Province of Otago, under and by virtue of the
power and authority vested in me by the 47th section of
the "Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," and of every other
power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the said Proclamation
is revoked in so far as regards section 32, block II, Tua-
peka West District.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public
seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin,
this 13th day of July, 1875.

NOTICE is hereby Given, that an application has
been received by His Honor the Superintendent,
in terms of the Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance
1865 Amendment Act, 1866, to erect the Township
of Winton into a Municipality, and that it is His Honor's
intention to comply with the request, provided no valid
objections are lodged at his office within two months from
this date.

PERSONS desirous of selecting Land, either for im-
mediate purchase or for occupation on deferred
payments, or under the Agricultural Lease Regulations,
will, on application to Mr. Robert Short, at the Land
Office, Dunedin, be supplied with all the information
they may require as to what land is open for sale or
occupation, and the terms upon which it may be acquired.
Mr. Robert Short will show maps of the land, and
assist purchasers or selectors in making the necessary
applications.
