CHIMNEYS, &c., made under authority of section 1,
subdivision 1, part 5 of 13th Schedule.

Whereas it is expedient to prevent persons erect-
ing or causing to be erected within the Town of
Oamaru, wooden buildings in or upon any of the
places hereinafter mentioned; be it therefore ordered
and directed by the Council of the Town of Oamaru,
by virtue of the authority in them vested, that from
and after the day on which this regulation shall come
into force, it shall not be lawful for any person, un-
less with the written consent of the Council, to erect
or cause to be erected within the Town of Oamaru
any building, the walls or roof whereof shall be com-
posed or the greater part whereof shall be composed
of wood or of any other similar or dissimilar com-
bustible material upon any land or place hereinafter
mentioned. The owner or occupier of any land or
place hereinafter mentioned before erecting or per-
mitting to be erected on such land or place any build-
ing whatsoever, shall lodge with the Town Clerk, for
the inspection of the Council, a plan or plans, together
with specifications of the building proposed or in-
tended to be erected, and the erection of such
building shall not be commenced until the plan or
plans and specifications thereof shall have received
the sanction of the Council, and a notice to that
effect signed by the Town Clerk shall have been de-
livered to the person proposing or intending to erect
or cause or permit to be erected such building. Any
such owner or occupier desiring to alter any existing
building on any land or place hereinafter mentioned,
shall lodge with the Town Clerk plans and specifica-
tions of the alterations proposed to be made, and
shall not commence or proceed therewith until he
shall have received the consent of the Council.

The following pieces of land, all situated in the
said Town of Oamaru, comprise the land and places
referred to in the foregoing regulation, viz.:β€”

All such parts of sections 1 to 16 (both inclusive)
block IV. (bounded on any side or end thereof by
Thames Street or Wear Street) as are situate within
a distance of sixty feet in a direct line from the
nearest part of any of the said streets or of the
south-eastern boundary line of section No. 1.

All such parts of sections 1 to 5 (both inclusive)
block IV. (bounded on any side or end thereof re-
spectively by Thames Street, Coquet Street, or Wear
Street) as are situate within a distance of sixty feet
in a direct line from the nearest part or boundary line
of any of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 1 to 5 (both inclusive)
block VI. (bounded on any side or end thereof re-
spectively by Thames Street, Coquet Street, or Eden
Street) as are situate within a distance of sixty feet
in a direct line from the nearest part or boundary
line of any of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 1 to 5 (both inclusive)
block VII. (bounded on any side or end thereof)
Thames Street, Ribble Street, or Eden Street re-
spectively, as are situate within sixty feet in a direct
line from the nearest part of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 1 to 5, block XXIII.
(bounded on any side or end thereof respectively by
Thames Street, Ribble Street, or Eden Street) as are
situate within a distance of sixty feet in a direct line
from the nearest part of any of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 1 to 5 (both inclusive)
block XXIV (bounded on any side or end thereof re-
spectively by Thames Street, Eden Street, or Coquet
Street) as are situate within a distance of sixty feet
in a direct line from the nearest part of any of the
said streets.

All such parts of sections 1 to 11 (both inclusive)
block II. (bounded on any side or end thereof by
Tyne Street, Wansbeck Street or Arun Street) as are
situate within a distance of sixty feet in a direct line
from the nearest point of any of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 1 to 11 (both inclusive)
block III. (bounded on any side or end thereof re-
spectively by Tyne Street, Wansbeck Street, or
Itchen Street) as are situate within a distance of
sixty feet in a direct line from the nearest part or
boundary line of any of the said streets.

All such portions of sections numbered 1 to 30
(both inclusive on the plan of subdivision of the
property vested in the Oamaru Harbor Board as are
situate within a distance of sixty feet in a direct line
from the nearest point of Tyne Street or Wansbeck
Street.

All such parts of sections 11 and 12, block II,
bounded on any side or end thereof respectively by
Tyne Street, Tees Street, or Wansbeck Street, as are
situate within a distance of sixty feet in a direct line
from the nearest point or part of any of the said
streets.

All such parts of sections 12 to 16 (both inclusive)
block XXVII. (bounded on any side or end thereof
respectively by Wansbeck Street, Tees Street, or
Wharf Street (as are situate within a distance of
sixty feet in a direct line from the nearest part of
any of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 1 to 5 (both inclusive)
block XXVI. (bounded on any side or end thereof
by Wansbeck Street, Tees Street, or Wharf Street)
as are situate within a distance of sixty feet in a
direct line from the nearest part of any of the said
streets.

All such portions of sections 1 to 22, block III.
(bounded by Tyne Street, Tees Street, Itchen Street
or Wansbeck Street) as are situate within the dis-
tance of sixty feet from the nearest part of any of
the said streets.

All such parts of sections 14 and 15, block XXVI.
(bounded by Itchen Street, Tees Street or Wharf
Street) as are situated within sixty feet in a direct
line from the nearest part of any of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 31 and 32 on
the plan of sub-division of the property vested in
the Oamaru Harbor Board (bounded by Thames
Street and Itchen Street) as are situate within a dis-
tance of sixty feet in a direct line from the nearest
part of either of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 12 to 22 (both inclusive)
block II. (bounded on any side or end thereof by
Tyne Street, Wansbeck Street, or Arun Street) as
are situate within sixty feet in a direct line from the
nearest part of any of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 12 to 22 (both inclusive)
block III. (bounded on any side or end thereof by
Itchen Street, Tees Street or Wansbeck Street) as
are situate within sixty feet in a direct line from the
nearest part of any of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 5 to 14 (both inclusive)
block XXVI. (bounded on any side or end thereof
of any of the said sections respectively by Tees
Street, Wansbeck Street, or Itchen Street) as are
situate within sixty feet in a direct line from the
nearest part of any of the said streets.

All such parts of sections 5 to 12 (both inclusive)
block XXVII. (bounded on any side or end thereof
by Tyne Street, Wharf Street, or Wansbeck Street)
as are situate within a distance of sixty feet in a
direct line from the nearest part of any of the said
streets.

All such parts of sections 1 to 17 (both inclusive)
block XXV. (bounded by Severn Street, Thames
Street, Coquet Street, and Cross Street respectively)
as are situate within a distance of sixty feet from the
nearest position or boundary line of any of the said
streets.
