PROCLAMATION

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by Section 8 of the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871," it is provided that at any time after the first annual election of the District Board for any district, the Superintendent, if he shall have received a petition to that effect signed by one-fourth or more of the number of persons liable to be rated under the said Ordinance in respect of rateable property in the said district, shall, by proclamation within three months after the receipt of the same, divide the district into two or more separate sub-divisions:

Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, and by virtue of the power and authority vested in me by the said section, and of every other power and authority enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare the Tuturau Road District to be divided into three sub-divisions, namely, the Waikana, the Marairua, and the Waiarikiki Sub-divisions, the respective boundaries whereof are set forth in the Schedule hereto.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this eighth day of July, eight-teen hundred and seventy-five.

SCHEDULE.

Sub-divisions of Tuturau Road District.

Waikana Sub-Division—comprises all that area bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Otakarama Stream, thence along that stream and its northern branch to its source; thence along the northern boundary of the Waiariki Hundred to its eastern boundary; thence due south to its southern boundary; thence due west to the Waiarikiki Stream; thence in a southerly direction along that stream, and a tributary thereto forming the northern boundary of section numbered 66, block VI, Tuturan Survey District; thence in a westerly direction along that tributary, and along the southern boundaries of sections numbered respectively 71, 89, 93, 60, 90, 59, and 94, block VI, and 21, 19, and 18, block III, Tuturau Survey District; thence along the road line to the eastern boundary of section 6; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundaries of sections numbered respectively 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, to the northern boundary of the said block III; thence due west to the Mataura River; thence in a northerly direction along the Mataura River to the starting point.

Marairua Sub-division—comprises all that area bounded towards the north by the Waikana Sub-division; towards the east by blocks numbered respectively VI and VII, Tuturau Survey District; towards the south by the Minihau Stream; and towards the west by the Mataura River.

Waiarikiki Sub-division—comprises all that area bounded towards the north by the Waikana Sub-division; towards the east by the Waiarikiki Stream; towards the south by the Minihau Stream; and towards the west by the Marairua Sub-division.
