BYE-LAW No. 6.
A Bye-law of the Council of the City of Dunedin,
made under part 13 of the "Municipal Corporations
Act, 1867."
(As to Regulations, &c., of Buildings.)
In pursuance of the powers and provisions con-
tained in section 181, part 13, of the "Municipal
Corporations Act, 1867," the Council of the City of
Dunedin ordain as follows, that is to say:—
"Subdivisions 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8, part 5, of
the 13th schedule to the said Act are hereby
adopted in and for the said City of Dunedin,
and for and on behalf of the Corporation of
the City of Dunedin."

BYE-LAW No. 7.
A Bye-law of the Council of the City of Dunedin,
made under part 13 of the "Municipal Corporations
Act, 1867."
In pursuance of the powers and provisions con-
tained in section 186 of part 13 of the "Municipal
Corporations Act, 1867," the Council of the city of
Dunedin ordain as follows, that is to say:—
Any person guilty of any of the following offences,
omissions, or neglects within, the City of Dunedin,
shall, on being convicted of any such offence, omis-
sion, or neglect, be liable to pay any penalty not ex-
ceeding (£5) five pounds.
1st. Any owner or driver of any hay cart or
other vehicle who, whilst such hay cart or
other vehicle is passing through or along any
street in the city, unloaded, neglects to have
the projecting frame detached from the body
of the cart in such a manner as not to be
an obstruction to the public, nor dangerous
to life or limb.
2nd. Any person carrying upon any footpath or
street line any implements, tools, or mate-
rials, perhaps in such manner as to be
a public obstruction.

BYE-LAW No. 8.
A Bye-law of the Council of the City of Dunedin,
made under section 186 of the "Municipal Corpora-
tions Act 1867."
A Bye-law to restrain any person from Riding or
Driving round an Angle or Corner of any
Street at other than a walking pace.
In pursuance of the powers and provisions con-
tained in section 186 of part 13 of the "Municipal
Corporations Act 1867," the Council of the City of
Dunedin ordain as follows, that is to say:—
Any person guilty of either of the following of-
fences within the City of Dunedin, shall, on being
convicted of such offence, be liable to pay any penalty
not exceeding (£5) five pounds, that is to say:—
Any person riding or driving any horse or other
animal, either with or without a vehicle,
round an angle or corner of any street or
public thoroughfare within the city, or with-
in (3) three feet of the apex of any such
corner, at other than a walking pace.

day of September, 1871.

BYE-LAW No. 9.
A Bye-law of the Council of the City of Dunedin,
made under sections 186 and 361 of the "Municipal
Corporations Act, 1867."
A Bye-law for Regulating the Cattle and Sheep
Market of the Corporation of the City of Dunedin.
In pursuance of the powers and provisions con-
tained in section 361, part 21, and in section 186 of
part 13, of the "Municipal Corporations Act, 1867,"
the Council of the City of Dunedin ordain as follows,
that is to say:—
1st. That the Cattle and Sheep Market of the
Council of the City of Dunedin (hereinafter referred
to as the "MARKET") covering all that area com-
prising the southern half of the Cattle Market Re-
serve, as laid down on the Record Map of the City of
Dunedin, and situate in the Town Belt of Dunedin,
on the south side of Maclaggan street extension, com-
monly known as the Serpentine Avenue, shall be
open for the reception and delivery of cattle and
other live stock on such days in each week, and on such
other days as the said Council may from time to time
by any resolution direct, until 10 o'clock post meri-
dian, subject to such rules and regulations as may be
ordered by the said Council in that behalf.
2nd. That there shall be appointed for such Cattle
Market an officer, to be called the Inspector thereof,
whose duties shall be as follows:—
1st. To see that the Market Regulations be duly
observed.
2nd. To demand and receive all Market tolls and
dues.
3rd. To allot the principal and drafting yards to
the use of the parties bringing stock to the
Market for sale, in such manner as in each
particular case may seem to such Inspector
to be most convenient.
4th. To preserve order and cleanliness within
such Market, and to summarily eject there-
from any person creating a riot or disturb-
ance, or cursing or swearing, or using any
gross or indecent language, or being guilty
of any gross or indecent conduct therein.
3rd. That any person or persons who may obstruct
the Inspector or his assistants in the performance of
his or their duty, or shall release any stock from the
Market, or shall remove the same from one part of
the Market to another without the authority of the
Inspector, or shall wilfully break down or damage
any of the gates, fences, or premises of the Market,
shall forfeit and pay, for every such offence, any sum
not exceeding (£5) five pounds.
4th. That the party or parties placing stock in th-
