PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases, for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Arrowtown, on or before the 17th day of May, 1875.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden's Office, at Arrowtown.

Given under my hand at Dunedin, this 21st day of April, one thousand eight hundred and seventy five.

SCHEDULE.

George Hanson and Martin Wilson, on behalf of the Walhalla Gold Mining Company for 10 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated at the Danes Terrace, west side of Arrow River Valley.

NOTICE is hereby Given, that John Terry having declined to execute the Gold-mining Lease issued in his favor for section 2, block VII. Leaning Rock District, the lease has been cancelled by the Government, and the land is now open for occupation by holders of Miners' Rights, &c.

NOTICE is hereby Given, that Messrs. Greenbank and Co. having applied for permission to surrender the Gold-mining Lease issued in their favor for section 1, block VI. Lauder District, the same has been sanctioned by the Government, and the land is now open for occupation by holders of Miners' Rights, &c.

NOTICE is hereby Given, that James Doughty and Michael Riddell Webster having failed to execute the Agricultural Lease issued in their favor for section 17, block VI. Table Hill District, His Honor the Superintendent has cancelled the same, and the land is open for application under the Agricultural Lease Regulations.

TENTH SCHEDULE.

District of Mount Ida, 12th April, 1875.
To the District Land Officer at Naseby.

I HEREBY give Notice, that I intend to construct a Water Race for irrigation, farming, and domestic purposes, on Mr. Main's Run 205, Hyde, commencing at a point at coal Creek two hundred yards above the shepherd's stone hut, on the bridle track leading to Taieri Lake Home Station, and terminating section 15, block II., Township of Hyde.

The length of such race is one mile and a half, or thereabouts, and its intended course is north-east, and it will pass through a portion of the said Run, and the paddock of Messrs. Dowling thereon situate.

The mean depth and breadth of such race is 6 inches by 6 inches, and it is capable of carrying one-half sluice head of water.

PERSONS desirous of selecting Land, either for immediate purchase or for occupation on deferred payments, or under the Agricultural Lease Regulations, will, on application to Mr. Short, at the Land Office, Dunedin, be supplied with all the information they may require as to what land is open for sale or occupation, and the terms upon which it may be acquired.

Mr. Short will shew maps of the land, and assist purchasers or selectors in making the necessary applications.
