NORTH-EAST VALLEY ROAD BOARD.
TENDERS are invited to form twelve chains, more or less, 16 feet wide, and supply 130 yards 3-inch good road metal, on Hawthorn road.
Also, about 150 yards 3-inch road metal, to be broken and spread on the old Port road.
Specifications can be seen at Mr. Thomas Brown's, North-East Valley, and the works will be pointed out to intending contractors on Wednesday, 7th April, at 9 a.m. Contractors to meet at Brown's Hotel. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

BLUESKIN ROAD BOARD.
NOTICE is hereby Given, that the Board will take legal proceedings against any person or persons found quarrying stone within one chain of high water mark on the Beach Road from Port Chalmers to Hay-ward's Point.

TUTURAU ROAD BOARD.
NOTICE is hereby Given, that the Tuturau Road Board have this day resolved to make and levy a General Rate of One Shilling in the £, on all rateable property within the District, for the year 1874-5.
The rate book is open for inspection at Tuturau School-house. A Special Meeting of the Board will be held at their office, Mataura Bridge Hotel, on Saturday, the 1st of May, at 3 o'clock p.m., for the purposes of opening tenders and hearing appeals against the valuation.
All rates must be paid to me before the 16th of May. For the convenience of ratepayers in the northern portion of the District and Mataura Bridge township, I will attend, for the purpose of receiving payment of assessment, at the office of the Board, Mataura Bridge, on Saturdays, the 1st, 8th, and 15th May, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

NORTH-EAST VALLEY ROAD DISTRICT.
TENDERS are invited to form and metal about five chains of No. 1 Road, near Mr. Barrowman's. Specification at Mr. Menzies' Store, Sawyer's Bay.
Also, TENDERS to cart Stone Spall, at per yard; and a separate tender to supply, break, and spread road metal on the Leith Valley Road. Specification at Cattle Market Hotel, North-East Valley. Tenders left at North-East Valley School-house, on or before the 8th May, at 2 p.m. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted by the Board.

BYE-LAWS AND REGULATIONS of the District Board and Ratepayers of the District of Invercargill, made under the authority of "The Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871," and "The Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871, Amendment Ordinance, 1874:"—
Any person—
1st—Removing any stone, timber, earth, or gravel from any road without permission from the Board; or
2nd—Throwing or depositing any rubbish, dirt, stones, firewood, or any other matter upon any road, calculated to injure the same; or
3rd—Erecting without permission of the Board any building or fence, or making any crossing, drawing any sledge, timber, or other material upon any road in such way as to injure the same; or
4th—Filling up or damaging any culvert, bridge, bank, trees, or wall, or riding or driving upon any footpath; or
5th—Turning loose any horses or cattle upon any road, or allowing any animal to wander thereon; or
6th—Furiously riding or driving any cart, waggon, or other carriage; or when meeting any vehicle refusing or neglecting to keep on the left hand side of the road; or, when passing any vehicle or animal going in the same direction, not going or passing or not allowing any person desirous so to do to pass, when practicable, on the right or off side of such animal or vehicle; or
7th—Riding upon any cart, dray, waggon, or other carriage without having and holding proper and sufficient reins; or, being the owner or hirer of any such cart, dray, waggon, or other carriage, allowing an incompetent person to have charge of the animal or animals drawing the same; or
8th—Being the driver of any vehicle, injuring any person or any property whatever by negligence, or being driving on the wrong side of the road, or being away from the horse or cattle drawing such vehicle so as to be unable to have full control thereof; or
9th—Any person who shall act as driver, or have the sole charge of more than one vehicle on any public road or street, unless in cases where two of such carriages and no more shall be drawn by each one horse only, and the horse of the hinder of such carriages shall be attached by a sufficient rein through a ring attached to the back of the foremost vehicle; or
10th—Leaving any party of any ploughs, harrows, cart or vehicle or implement, without any horse or animal harnessed thereto, except in consequence of some accident having occurred; or
11th—Slaughtering, or skining any beast upon any road, permitting any skin or carease to remain there, or leaving any dead horse or cattle upon any road; or
12th—Leaving any iron, timber, boards, article or thing laid across any vehicle going along any road, so that either end shall project more than two feet beyond the wheels or side of such vehicle; or
13th—Discharging any firearms, or fireworks, or playing any game upon any road; or
14th—Blasting any rock, stone, or timber upon or near any road, without permission in writing from the Board—
