PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act, 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act, and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases, for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Cromwell, on or before the 23rd day of April, 1875.
Copy of the application made and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden's office, at Cromwell.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 31st day of March, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.

SCHEDULE.
T. J. Wilson, on behalf of the Reliance Quartz Mining Company, for 8 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated on the south side of Josiah Mitchenson's Lease for ten acres already granted.
NOTICE.
Provincial Compulsory Lands Taking Act, 1866.
NOTICE is hereby Given, that it is intended to introduce a Bill into the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago at its next session, to take compulsorily for the purpose of making roads in the District of Portobello, parts of sections numbered respectively twenty-two (22) and twenty-eight (28), block numbered five (V.), Portobello District; in the District of Papakaio, part of land sold under application, numbered 2229, block numbered IV., on the map of the Papakaio District; and in the Wyndham District, part of sections numbered respectively five (5), twenty-eight (28), and thirty-three (33), block numbered two (II.) on the map of the Wyndham District.
And Notice is hereby further Given, that a copy of the Bill so intended to be introduced as aforesaid may be inspected at the office of the Clerk of the Provincial Council, on and after the 17th day of April next.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 20th April, 1875, for
Contract No. 1030.—Erection of large stone culvert, and formation of portion of road at Manuka Creek.
Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the Police Camp, Waitahuna.
Tenders to be indorsed "Tender for Contract No. 1030."
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
