PROCLAMATION.
Election of Road Boards. Appointment of Returning Officers.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by the "Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,"
Section thirty, it is enacted that in every district divided into sub-divisions, all elections of members of the District Board for any sub-division shall be held by and before such one of the members for such sub-division, as the Board shall from time to time have appointed for holding elections in and for such subdivisions; and, if the Board have failed to make such appointment by and before such person as the Superintendent shall for the occasion appoint in that behalf: And whereas the District Board of the Waihola Road District have failed to appoint members of the subdivisions of the said Road District by and before whom elections of members of the District Board for the subdivisions of the said District shall be held:
Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby nominate and appoint the persons after-mentioned by and before whom the elections of members of the District Board for the after-mentioned subdivisions of the Waihola Road District shall be held in manner required by the said Ordinance.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by the 47th section of the Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council, to set apart in any part of the Province, districts or blocks of land within which licenses to occupy land and leases thereof on deferred payments may be granted either exclusively or within which the land shall be open for license or lease on deferred payment, or for sale on immediate payment. And whereas the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago has recommended the Superintendent of the said Province to set apart the lands hereinafter specified for alienation on deferred payments:
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by and with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council as aforesaid, do hereby, by virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by "The Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872," and of every other power in this behalf enabling me, proclaim and declare as a District within which the land shall be open for license or lease as aforesaid, or for sale on immediate payment; and I do further proclaim and declare that those sections numbered respectively 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12, Block IV., on the map of the said District, Waihola District, as a District within which the land shall be open on the 22nd day of March, 1875, for application for license and lease, on deferred payment, as provided in the Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872.
