OTAGO WASTE LANDS ACT, 1872.

Section 65, Sub-section 1.

The Government with statements of the amount of rates proposed to be levied during the year ended 30th June, 1875, and the are requested to do so immediately, in order that the Government may be in a position to fix the amount of subsidy to be given to the various Boards throughout the Province.

BLUESKIN ROAD BOARD.

TENDERS are invited for the formation of 22 chains of Road near the Deborah Bay School House. Mr. Closs will show the work, plans, &c., on Monday, Feb. 22, at two o’clock. Tenders to be sent in by noon on 1st March.

SOUTH MOLYNEUX ROAD BOARD.

ORDER.

The South Molyneux Road Board have duly notified their intention to open up a New Road through part of sections 11 and 12, block II., South Molyneux District. The Board having considered all objections to the same, the said Board does hereby and by virtue of the 33rd section of the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” and of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” direct that the proposed road shall be executed according to plan.

PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.

I. Tenders wanted for formation of road-line alongside Vauxhall Township, from Beach road to Anderson’s Bay road; also for completing road from Quarry Point to entrance to Vauxhall Township; also for metalling from said entrance to the top of the hill. Information supplied by W. H. Cutten, Esq.

II. Applications invited from parties willing to act as Ranger for the separate subdivisions of the Peninsula Road District. Salary, £10 per annum for each subdivision. Engagement terminable at one month’s notice on either side.

III. Notice is hereby given to all parties affected thereby, that at a meeting of the Peninsula Road Board, held on the 6th February, 1875, it was resolved to levy a separate rate of Sixpence (6d.) in the Pound, net annual value on all rateable property bordering upon the Beach road, North East Harbour Subdivision, for the purpose of metalling Beach Road between Vauxhall and the property of Mr James Christie. Objections will be heard at the General Meeting of the Board on Saturday, 6th March, 1875.

WAIPORI ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE.

The rate for the current year (1874-5) is now due. Ratepayers are requested to pay the same to the undersigned on or before the 16th February, 1875.

For the convenience of ratepayers, I shall attend at the undermentioned places:

  • Woodside Store, on Saturday, the 13th February, 1875, from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Waihola Toll House, Tuesday, the 16th February, from 10 to 2 p.m.
  • Lake Waipori School House, Tuesday, the 16th February, from 6 to 8 p.m.

TENNYSON SETTLEMENT.

District of Switzers, 1st February, 1875.

To the District Land Officer at Switzers.

WE hereby give Notice that we intend to construct a Water Race, for turning a saw-mill wheel, commencing at a point at the junction of the right and left hand branches of the Winding Creek, and terminating in the creek above the head of Wilkie’s race.

The length of such water race is 75 yards of thereabouts, and its intended course is north and south.

The mean depth and breadth of such race is one by two feet, and it is capable of carrying five heads of water.

District of Naseby, January 11, 1875.

To the District Land Officer at Naseby.

WE F. hereby give notice that we intend to construct a Water Race for irrigation, farming and domestic purposes, commencing at a point near Spring Creek, on the road between Naseby and Eden Creek, and terminating at section No. 4, Eweburn Agricultural Block.

The length of such race is two miles, or thereabouts, and its intended course is about north and south, and it will pass through the Mount Ida Pastoral Investment Company’s, and M. E. A. Chapman’s, runs.

The mean depth and breadth of such race is 2 feet by 3 feet, and it is capable of carrying 1½ sluice heads of water.

SUPREME COURT CIRCUIT SITTING.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Circuit Court sitting of the Supreme Court for the despatch of criminal and civil business will be held in the Court House, at Lawrence, on Tuesday, the 16th day of March next, at the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon; at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances or otherwise to appear as prosecutors, plaintiffs, defendants, or witnesses are required to give their attendance.
