SOUTHERN TRUNK TO KAITANGATA.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 11th January, 1876, for

Contract No. 1091.—Metalling 50½ chains road in Block 14, North Molyneux district.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the Police Camp, Balclutha.

Tenders to be indorsed "Tender for Contract No. 1091." The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

ROAD THROUGH KAITANGATA.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Tuesday, 4th January, 1876, for

Contract No. 1092.—Formation and metalling of Water street, Kaitangata.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the Police Camp, Balclutha.

Tenders to be indorsed "Tender for Contract No. 1092." The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

LAWRENCE TO DALHOUSIE VIA CLARK'S FLAT.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 11th January, 1876, for

Contract No. 1093.—Formation of 70 chains of road through Block 5, Tuapeka East District.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at the Police Camp, Lawrence.

Tenders to be indorsed "Tender for Contract No. 1093." The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


NOTICE is hereby Given, that the Government have sanctioned the cancellation of the undermentioned portion of the Gold Mining Lease issued in favour of the Morning Star Gold Mining Company, and the land is now open for occupation by holders of Miners' rights :—

All that area, being part of section numbered 2, block XIX, on the Record Map of the Shotover District, containing three (3) acres, more or less, bounded towards the north-east by Crown lands, 750 links; towards the south-east by other part of section numbered 2, 360 links; towards the south-west by Crown lands, 760 links; and towards the north-west by Crown lands, 449 links.

NOTICE.

A SUM of £1100 having been voted by the Provincial Council to assist in providing buildings to be used as Athenæums in localities where no such buildings have as yet been erected.

It is hereby notified to those desirous of participating in the vote, that in order to do so it will be necessary to forward a written application, stating the amount collected, and giving a general description of the approximate cost of the building proposed to be erected. The sum voted will be distributed pro rata to the contributors of the district, provided that in no case shall the contribution of the Government exceed the sum of £250 to any building.

Applications to be received at this office on or before the 1st day of March, 1876, after which date no further application for subsidy will be entertained during the current financial year.
