One brown mare, branded JH joined, near shoulder.
Owner unknown, for trespassing on his crop, for which four shillings is claimed; and in default of being released, the above mare will be sold at the Public Pound at Lawrence, on Friday, the 20th day of November, 1874, at twelve o’clock noon.

MURDER
Body of a Child found in the scrub on the Dunedin Town Belt.
£50 REWARD.
WHEREAS about Noon on Tuesday, the 3rd instant, the body of a newly-born and fully developed female child, supposed to have lived about twenty-four hours, was found in the scrub on the Town Belt, near the Cattle Market, at the head of Maclaggan street, Dunedin, wrapped up in a piece of old calico, hemmed, and somewhat resembling a pocket handkerchief, and covered with a portion of a copy of the Otago Guardian newspaper of the 30th of October, 1874: And whereas at an inquest held on the 6th instant, by T. M. Hocken, Esquire, Coroner, on the body of the said child, the jury returned a verdict of wilful murder against some person or persons unknown:
Notice is hereby given that a reward of Fifty Pounds will be paid by the Provincial Government of Otago for such information as will lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who caused the death of the said child.

Places and Times appointed for Vaccination
Province of Otago
Hampden:—Dr. Smith’s Surgery at Hampden. First Wednesday in each month, at 12 noon; second Saturday in each month, between the hours of 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Otepopo:—School-house, Otepopo. First Saturday in January, April, July, and October, in each year, at 12 noon; second Saturday in January, April, July, and October in each year, at 12 noon.
Arrowtown:—Royal Oak Hotel, Arrowtown. First Thursday in each month, between 12 noon and 2 p.m.; second Thursday in each month between 12 noon and 2 p.m.
Public Vaccinators appointed

IT is hereby notified for public information, that, under the provisions of “The Public Health Act, 1872,” His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the under-mentioned gentlemen to be Public Vaccinators to perform gratuitous vaccination in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, and any Regulations made or to be made thereunder, for the districts mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and set opposite their names.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Sir James Fergusson, Baronet, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, a Member of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.
