Colony of New Zealand,

containing by estimation four
teen thousand five hundred (14,500) acres, more or less,
situate in the Cromwell and Wakefield Districts, being
parts of runs numbered respectively two hundred and
forty-five (245) and three hundred and forty (340) on the
map of the said districts; bounded by a line commencing
at the junction of the Lowburn with the Clutha River, and
proceeding southward along the Clutha river to the
town of Cromwell (twenty-one thousand five hundred
(21,500) links, thence in a north-westerly direction along
the town boundary ten thousand two hundred (10,200)
links, thence in a south-westerly direction along the
boundary of the said township three thousand seven hun-
dred and thirty-four (3734) links to section numbered 10,
block I, Cromwell District; thence along the north-
eastern boundary of the said section nine hundred (900)
links; thence along the north-western boundary of the
said section three thousand two hundred (3,200) links;
thence along the south-western boundaries of the said
section numbered 10, and the town of Cromwell five
thousand five hundred (5500) links to the Kawarau river;
thence in a south-westerly direction along the Kawarau
river twenty-two thousand six hundred (22,600) links;
thence in a north-westerly direction along the Kawarau
river thirty-six thousand (36,000) links, to the junction of
a creek; thence in a northerly direction along that creek
to a point in a straight line with Trigonometrical Station
G, and the junction of Stratford’s gully with the Low-
burn, fourteen thousand four hundred (14,400) links;
thence along the said straight line to the aforesaid junc-
tion of Stratford’s gully with the Lowburn, twenty-nine
thousand five hundred (29,500) links; thence in a south-
easterly direction along the Lowburn twenty thousand six
hundred (20,600) links to the starting point.

Given under my hand, and issued under the
Public Seal of the Province of Otago, in
presence of Donald Reid and Robert Stout,
Esquires, Members of the Executive Council
of the said Province, being also Members of
the Provincial Council thereof, this sixth
day of November one thousand eight hundred
and seventy-four.

PROCLAMATION

Of His Excellency the Governor having assented to cer-
tain Ordinances of the Superintendent and Provincial
Council of the Province of Otago.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Superintendent of the
Province of Otago.

WHEREAS in the thirty-third session of the Pro-
vincial Council of the Province of Otago the Bills
hereinafter mentioned were passed by the said Council
(that is to say):-

  • Riverton Government Reserve Bill, 1874
  • Portobello Cemetery Reserves Sale Bill, 1874
  • Lower Kaikorai District Road Lands Exchange Bill, 1874
  • Papakaio Railway Reserves Sale Bill, 1874
  • Roads Diversion Bill, 1874
  • Dunedin School Site Bill, 1874
  • New River Harbour Board Bill, 1874
  • Education Reserves Management and Leasing Bill, 1874
  • Castle street Diversion Bill, 1874
  • New River and Jacob’s River Ferries Reserves Leasing Bill, 1874
  • Waikahuna West District Road Compulsory Lands Taking Bill, 1874
  • Riverton Drill Shed Reserves Management Bill, 1874
  • Riverton Harbour Board Bill, 1874
  • Roads Diversion Bill (No. 2), 1874

And whereas the said Bills were presented to the Super-
intendent of the Province of Otago for the assent of His
Excellency the Governor of New Zealand thereto, and
the said Superintendent did, upon the said Bills being so
presented to him as aforesaid, declare that he reserved
the same for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure
thereon. And whereas the said bills have since been laid
before His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand,
and he has been pleased to assent to the same.

Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent
of the Province of Otago, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the said Bills before mentioned (that is to say):-

have received the assent of His Excellency the Governor
and are now in full force.

seal of the Province of Otago at Dunedin,

TENDERS

Tenders will be received at the Office of the
Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 17th
November, 1874.

Contract No. 988 – Construction of portion of road
Southern Trunk to Kaitangata.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of
tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer,
Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Balclutha.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender
for Contract No. 988.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the
lowest or any tender.


TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secre-
tary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 17th
November, 1874, for-

Contract No. 1001 – Construction: Stone and
Timber Bridge at Spotts Creek near Blacks,
on road Maungatua to Dunstan.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of
tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer,
Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Blacks.

Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No.
1001.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the
lowest or any tender.


TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secre-
tary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 17th Novem-
ber, 1874, for-

Contract No. 1000 – Construction of portions of
road Main road to Kuri Bush.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of
tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer,
Dunedin, and at M’Lean’s Store, Brighton.

Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No.
1000.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the
lowest or any tender.
