NOTICE is hereby given that the Palmerston District Road Board intend to levy a general district rate of One Shilling in the Pound on the annual value on all rateable property throughout the district for the current year ending 30th of June, 1874.

Objectors (if any) must lodge their objections in writing, within 30 days from date, at the Office of the Board, which will be heard at a Special Meeting at the Office of the Board, on the third Wednesday in December, 1874, at 2 o’clock, p.m.

The Rate books are open for inspection.

NOTICE.—The owners of sections in the Townships of Ravensbourne, Rothesay, St. Leonards, Opoho and the district of North East Valley in general are hereby informed that the road rates are now payable and the Collector will attend at North East Valley school-house on Saturday the 7th November from 2 till 4 p.m. after which date rates remaining unpaid will be recovered in the usual way.

PORT OBELLO ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE.

ALL parties having lodged with the Clerk, objections to the valuation of any rateable property included in the rate levied by the Board on the 1st of October 1874 will be heard in support of the same at a special meeting of the Board to be held in the house of Mr. Allen Portobello Road on Saturday the 7th of November prox at 10 a.m.

NORTH EAST VALLEY ROAD DISTRICT.

TENDERS are invited to form a portion of road-line at Sawyers’ Bay between Sections 83 Block VII and Section 42 Sawyers’ Bay the plan and specification can be seen at the store of Mr. Menzies Sawyers’ Bay and Tenders to be left at the North East Valley school-house on or before Saturday the 21st November, at 2 p.m.

ROAD CLOSED FOR TWO MONTHS.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that that portion of the Dunedin and North Taieri road from Bufton’s Store to Kaikorai Bridge is closed against heavy waggon and dray traffic during the regrading of the road, which will take about two months from this date.

KURI BUSH ROAD BOARD.

TENDERS will be received by the undersigned until noon of Saturday, 7th November, 1874, for Contract No. 6, Removing slip at the Yellow Pinch, and 3 1/2 chains of a side cutting on road line between Barry and Milne. Specifications to be seen at the school-house, Otakia, 26th October, 1874.

SEASIDE DISTRICT ROAD BOARD.

IT is hereby notified that a General Rate of one shilling per £ on the full nett annual value of rateable property, was made on the 24th instant, for the year ending 30th June, 1875. Also a Special Rate of threepence per £.

Ratepayers objecting to the valuation in respect of any error, omission, or surcharge, are hereby required to attend a Special Meeting of the Board, to be held in the Schoolhouse, Brighton, on Saturday, 28th November at noon.

PENINSULA ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Road Rate of One Shilling per £ (nett annual value) on all rateable property in the District was made by the Road Board on the 3rd inst.

A Statement of the said Rate is open for inspection, on every lawful day, at the Office of the Board, Highcliff.

All objections (on whatever grounds) to the Rate must be forwarded to me before the 12th November, 1874, and all such objectors will be heard in support of their objections at a Special Meeting of the Board, to be held at usual place, on Saturday, 14th November, at 12 Noon.

KURI BUSH ROAD BOARD.

TENDERS will be received by the undersigned until noon of Saturday, 7th November, 1874, for Contracts No. 4 and 5, Metalling 28 chains of the School House Gully Road, from Main South Road to Johnston’s Gate.

Contract No. 5.—Formation of Road Line between White Swamp and East Taieri.

Contract No. 9.—Erecting Foot Bridge and other Works on road line running from Main South Road, between William Martin’s and Mrs. Strand’s property.

Plans and specifications to be seen and Tenders to be lodged at the Kaikorai Hotel, on or before the 10th November, 1874.

Mr. Alexander Brown will show the works on Contract No. 9 on Friday, 6th November, at 12 o’clock.

The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

£5000.—SEVEN PER CENT. DEBENTURES.

CROMWELL CORPORATION WATERWORKS LOAN,
Issued under Act of the General Assembly, dated 31st August, 1874.

The Corporation of Cromwell invite tenders to the amount of £2000, bearing interest at 7 per cent, payable half-yearly.

The debentures will be payable in 30 years, and will be dated 8th January, 1875. They will be for £50 each, and the coupons attached to each half year’s interest will be payable at Cromwell or Dunedin at the Bank of New South Wales.

A minimum price will be fixed before tenders are opened.

Tenders in accordance with the annexed form will be received by the Town Clerk, Cromwell, up to 8 p.m. on Friday, the 8th January, 1875, endorsed “Tender for Debentures.”

Payments of 5 per cent. on the amount applied for shall accompany each tender; balance on 22nd January, 1875.
