PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

In conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act, 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes, within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against the granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Cromwell, on or before the 25th day of September, 1874.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, at Cromwell.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 1st day of September, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

SCHEDULE.

Thos. M’Marran, on behalf of the New Aurora Q. M. Co., for 16 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated at and adjoining the Lucknow Co., on the south side.


NOTICE TO ROAD BOARDS.

DISTRICT Road Boards are reminded of the Account of Receipts and Disbursements for the year ended 30th June, 1874, required by the General Government, which has only yet been furnished by a few of the Boards, and are requested to send it in to this office without further delay.

It is hereby notified that all business for consideration by the Board at its weekly meeting on Wednesday must be entered not later than 4 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday previous.

NOTICE.

THE Quartz Crushing Machine and Building on Rattray Street Jetty, the property of the Provincial Government, will be offered for sale by Public Auction, separately, to be removed at once, on the ground, on Monday, the 7th September, at noon.


WRITTEN TENDERS

will be received at the Provincial Secretary’s Office, Dunedin, up to noon of Monday, the 21st day of September, for the Cartage and Delivery of Goods and Parcels from the Dunedin Railway Sheds. Conditions may be seen at the General Manager’s Office, Dunedin.

BRIDGES.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 22nd September, 1874, for—

Contracts Nos. 957, 958, 959, 960—Construction of Stone and Timber Bridges on road Clutha to Mataura between Clinton and Mataura Bridge.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Balclutha.

Tenders to be endorsed "Tender for Contract No. 957, 958, 959, 960," as the case may be.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
