PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th section of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold-mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objections, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Cromwell, on or before the 11th day of September, 1874.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, at Cromwell.

SCHEDULE.
Thomas Black, on behalf of the Lucknow Quartz Mining Company, for 10 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicant, situated at the south of and adjoining the Lucknow Company’s Lease, Bendigo, and adjoining the ground known as the Aurora Company’s Lease.
NOTICE.
Elections of Wardens, Depasturing Districts of Tuapeka, Waitahuna, and Waipori.
NOTICE is hereby Given, that in conformity with the “Depasturing Regulations,” the following Rules and Regulations shall be the Rules and Regulations for the Elections of Wardens for the Depasturing Districts of Tuapeka, Waitahuna, and Waipori; and the Board of Wardens for each of such Districts shall consist of five elective members, and shall hold office for one year, one of whom shall hereafter be appointed Chairman by the Superintendent, for each District.
I. Nominations of candidates must be made in writing, addressed to the Warden at Lawrence, on or before Monday, the thirty-first of August next, and in the following form, which must be signed in full by the proposer and seconder of every such candidate.

We hereby nominate (here insert name in full, and nature and particulars of qualification of person nominated) to be a member of the Board of Wardens of the Depasturing District of (insert name of District)

II. If more than the requisite number of candidates are nominated, a poll shall take place on such day as the Warden at Lawrence may appoint and notify by advertisement in a newspaper circulating in the locality at least twenty-four hours before the day appointed, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m., and after the latter hour no further vote shall be allowed to be recorded; and the candidates in whose favour the greatest number of votes shall have been recorded at the said hour of 4 p.m., (or in the event of there not being more than the requisite number, then the candidates nominated) shall, as soon thereafter as may be, be declared by the Warden, or other officer appointed by him, to have been duly elected for the ensuing year, ending the 31st day of August following.
III. No person shall be entitled to be so nominated, nor shall any person be entitled so to nominate, or to second the nomination of any candidate, unless he shall be possessed of one or other of the qualifications set forth and specified in Regulation No. 5 of the Depasturing Regulations of the 23rd day of June, 1868.
IV. If any person shall improperly be elected as a member of the Board of Wardens, he not being duly and lawfully possessed of the qualification aforesaid at the time of such election, his election shall be void.
