NORTH EAST VALLEY ROAD DISTRICT.

TENDERS are invited for forming 85 chains more or less of road line on Pine Hill commencing at section 16 Block X, at per chain. Plan and specification can be seen at residence of the clerk.

Also tender to supply and break, 50 yards of 2½ inch road metal on road No. 2, Sawyer’s Bay. Tenders to be left at N. E. Valley School-house on or before Wednesday the 19th day of August at 1 p.m. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted by the Board.

HALF-WAY BUSH DISTRICT ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given to the ratepayers and others interested in the above District that on and after Monday August 3rd, 1874, the annual accounts of the Board will be open for inspection at the Schoolhouse Waikari, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The statutory annual meeting of the Board will be held in the Schoolhouse Waikari, on Wednesday August 19th at noon, when the aforesaid accounts will be presented and dealt with.

NOTICE.

ROSLYN ROAD BOARD.

The following Bye-Laws have been made and passed by the Roslyn Road Board and approved by His Honor the Deputy Superintendent —

Bye-Laws of the Roslyn Road District duly made in pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871,” the “Otago Roads Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1872,” the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871 Amendment Ordinance 1874,” the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” and the “Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1872,” and passed at a meeting of the Roslyn Road Board held in the Roslyn Road District on the 27th day of July, 1874, intituled Bye-laws No. 1 and No. 2 to provide for the order and good government of the Roslyn Road District, and for appointing the hours during which it shall not be lawful to drive along, or on any of the public streets or roads in the Roslyn Road District; any cattle intended for sale, slaughter, or shipment, or travelling from one part of New Zealand, or of any other colony to any other place, and for prohibiting riding or driving horses or other cattle on any of the footpaths or sidewalks in the said Roslyn Road District.

Bye-Law No. 1. — It shall not be lawful to drive along or on any of the public streets or roads in the Roslyn Road District between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. of any day any cattle intended for sale, slaughter, or shipment, or travelling from one part of New Zealand or any other colony to any other place. Provided always that nothing herein contained shall apply to horses driven in harness or to oxen in the yoke, or to any quiet cow or cows in actual use for dairy purposes. Any one on being convicted of an offence against this Bye-law shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding the sum of Twenty Pounds.

Bye-Law No. 2. — It shall not be lawful to ride or drive horses or any other cattle on any of the footpaths or sidewalks of the Roslyn Road District. Any one on being convicted of an offence against this Bye-law shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding Five Pounds.
