NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given that under, and by virtue of sub-section 6, section 54 of the "Otago Waste Land Act," 1872, the following regulations have been made by His Honor the Superintendent of Otago.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY TO SEARCH FOR GOLD.

Any holder of a Miner’s Right desiring to enter for the purpose of searching for gold upon any land held under license under the provisions of the Act, shall apply to the District Officer in the form of schedule annexed hereto, and shall serve upon the occupant or licensee of the land a duplicate copy of such notice.

On receipt of any application to enter to search for gold, the District Officer shall appoint a day and place for hearing the same; and such application shall be heard and determined by the District Board of Inquiry appointed under the "Otago Waste Land Act," 1872.

In every case in which permission shall be granted to any holder of a Miner’s Right to enter upon any such land for the purpose of searching for gold, he shall deposit with the Receiver of Gold Revenue for the district such sum of money as the Board of inquiry may consider sufficient as security for the due performance of any conditions of such permission; and it shall be lawful for the Board of inquiry, in the case of failure to comply with such conditions, or any of them, to order payment of the whole, or any part of such money, to the licensee or occupiers of the lands so entered upon, or to make such other order in relation to the same as to them, or a majority of them, shall seem just, and the decision of the Board of inquiry, or a majority of them, shall be final and conclusive as regards all parties concerned.

The Board of inquiry, or a majority of them, shall have full power to impose any conditions which to them may seem just as to the mode and time of entry upon the said land for the purpose of searching for gold, and shall also be empowered to assess the amount of damage which may have accrued to the licensee by reason of any operations connected therewith, and to order by way of compensation for such damage, if any, the payment to the licensee of any sum not exceeding the amount deposited as aforesaid, and in the event of the non-fulfilment of any of the conditions imposed by them, the Board, or a majority of them, shall, after due notice to all parties, in the presence of them, or of such of them, as shall attend upon a day to be appointed for that purpose, have full power to cancel the permission to enter, and to order payment by way of compensation as aforesaid.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN conformity to the 29th section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown on or before the 24th day of July, 1874.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Queenstown.

SCHEDULE.
Charles Schasfedt, for two acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicant, situate opposite Deep Creek, Shotover.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the land adjoining the Training Wall, being sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, block LXVII., and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, block XLVIII., Dunedin, containing 21 poles each, will be offered for sale by public auction by Mr. James Milner, at the Provincial Council Hall, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 19th August, 1874.
Terms, 25 per cent. cash, and 25 per cent. at 6, 12, and 24 months, bearing interest at 6 per cent. per annum.
Conditions to be seen at this office on and after the 13th instant.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Lands until noon of Monday, 27th July 1874, for
Survey Contract No. 84.—Survey of 17 acres, at Edendale, Mataura, into quarter-acre town sections; and about 500 acres at Mataura Bridge, west side, into town and suburban sections.
Plans and specifications may be seen at the Survey offices, Dunedin and Invercargill.
Tenders must be accompanied by ten per cent. deposit.
The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 28th July, 1874, for contract 948.
Construction and Metalling of 123½ chains of road between Carthope and Kaikiku, on main road, Clutha to Mataura.
Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin; and at Police Camp, Balclutha.
Tenders to be endorsed, "Tender for contract No. 948."
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
