    publication of this notice.

  2. That no sheep or small cattle of any kind be depa-
    stured on the Crown Lands of the Hundred, unless on
    such portions of it as the Wardens from time to time
    shall direct and permit.

  3. That no entire horse over twelve months old be de-
    pastured on the Crown Lands of the Aparima Hundred;
    and that no bull shall be allowed to run thereon after
    fourteen days’ notice to that effect has been given in
    writing to the owner thereof.

  4. That no license-holder shall be allowed to depasture
    on land under the jurisdiction of the Wardens more than
    one head of great cattle, or four sheep, for every eight
    acres enclosed land, and one head of great cattle, or six
    sheep, for every six acres of unenclosed land occupied by
    the same within the limits of the Hundred.

  5. That all license-holders shall, within thirty days
    from the publication of this notice, furnish the Chairman
    of Wardens with the brands of the stock that they in-
    tend to run on the Hundred.

  6. That all stock depastured in contravention of any of
    the foregoing By-Laws, or bearing brands different to
    that supplied by license-holders to Chairman of Wardens,
    be impounded.

  7. That the penalty for any breach of the foregoing
    By-Laws be any sum not exceeding Five pounds sterling
    (£5), to be recovered in a summary way, according to the
    45th clause of the Land Regulations.

BY-LAWS of Wardens of Oreti Hundred, passed
at meeting of 25th February, 1874:—

  1. That no cattle of any description be depastured
    on the Crown Lands of the Oreti Hundred without a
    license. Provided always that cattle and horses of bona
    fide travellers on their journey, when turned out, be not
    considered trespassers, if not longer than two nights in
    the same neighbourhood.

  2. That all persons not being licensed to depasture
    stock on the Oreti Hundred be required to remove their
    cattle and horses within fourteen days from the publica-
    tion of this notice.

  3. That no sheep or small cattle of any kind be depa-
    stured on the Crown Lands of the Hundred, unless on
    such portions of it as the Wardens from time to time shall
    direct and permit.

    pastured on the Crown Lands of the Oreti Hundred;
    and that no bull shall be allowed to run thereon after

    the Oreti Hundred without twenty-four hours’ previous
    notice having been given to the Ranger.

  9. That the penalty for any breach of the foregoing
    By-Laws be any sum not exceeding Five pounds sterling.

TAKE NOTICE that I desire that the boundary fence
between the above-named section and section 9 in
the same block, owned by me, be made immediately on or
before the 31st of August, 1874, and that such fence shall
be in accordance with No. 1, section B, of the “Fencing
Ordinance 1872.”

A steer will be sold at Lovell’s Flat Pound.

IMPOUNDED, on the 3rd day of July, 1874, by
Lawrence Barclay,
One Bay Horse, branded like ⅷ off shoulder,
Owner unknown, for trespassing on George-street, Dunedin,
and in default of being released, the above horse will be
sold at the Public Pound, South Dunedin, on Friday,
24th day of July, 1874, at 12 o’clock noon.

NOTICE.—A red cow, branded K near rump, has
been trespassing in my paddock, North-East Harbour,
for six weeks past. If not claimed within 14 days
from date, she will be sold to defray expenses.

NOTICE.

WHEREAS a Brown Cow, dangerous to females and
children, and branded J.C. on near rump, owner
unknown, has been trespassing in my paddock here for
more than three months, notice is hereby given that if
the said cow be not claimed and removed before the 16th
July next, she will be sold in the paddock to anyone who
will remove her, alive or dead. Damages claimed, 20s.
and advertising.
