purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown, on or before the 12th day of June, 1874.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, at Queenstown.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 1st day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

SCHEDULE.

Peter Miller, on behalf of the Speedwell Gold Mining Company for two acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated at north side of Londonderry Creek, Upper Shotover.

APPOINTMENT OF A DISTRICT LAND OFFICE.

WHEREAS by the 14th section of the Otago Waste Lands Act, 1872, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Waste Lands Board, with the consent of the Superintendent of the Province of Otago, to appoint offices at such places as are most convenient for the sale disposal and of land within any land district; and whereas the Waste Lands Board of the Province of Otago have, with the consent of the Superintendent of the said Province, resolved that the Warden’s Office at Roxburgh, shall be appointed an office for the sale and disposal of land within the land district of Clyde, of which district William Lawrence Simpson was appointed District Land Officer by notice under our hands dated the third day of April, 1873; it is hereby notified that from and after the first day of June, 1874, applications for the sale, letting, disposal, or occupation of the Waste Lands within the land district of Clyde may be made to the said District Land Officer, at the Warden’s Office, Roxburgh, aforesaid.
