Mining Leases and Road Proclamation

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

IN conformity to the 29th Section of the “Gold Fields Act, 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objection against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objections, must be made in writing and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown, on or before the 6th day of February, 1874.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Queenstown.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 12th day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

SCHEDULE.

Thomas Grace on behalf of Grace and party for four acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated adjoining Carolan’s extended claim about a mile above the Sandhills.

Thomas Mark on behalf of the West Briton Company for 4 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenelles of the applicants, situated at Waitahuna East, about half a mile east of Duff’s store, adjoining Sailor’s Gully.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

SCHEDULE.

75 chains in length, 60 links wide, from Coal Road at New Bridge to boundary line between sections 1 and 2, block XXIX, boundaries north, Tokomairiro River south, by sections 2, 3, 4, and 5, block XXIX, Tokomairiro Survey District.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

JAMES MACANDREW, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in the Superintendent of Otago in this behalf by the “Tokomairiro District Roads Lands Ordinance, 1864,” and of the powers vested in me as Superintendent of the Province of Otago, hereby proclaim and declare that all those roads and all those portions of roads in the Province of Otago, mentioned and referred to in the said “Tokomairiro District Roads Lands Ordinance, 1864,” and particularly described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from and after the day of the date hereof, cease to be public roads or thoroughfares, and shall no longer form part of the public roads in the several Road Districts in the Province of Otago, mentioned in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed.

Dated at Dunedin this sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

Bye-Law No. 1.

Bye-Law of the Council of the Town of Cromwell, made under Part 13 of the “Municipal Corporations Act 1867.”

In pursuance of the power and provisions contained in section 181, part 13, of the “Municipal Corporations Act 1867,” the Council of the Town of Cromwell ordain as follows, that is to say:

1st. The whole of the subdivisions of the 1st, 2nd, 7th, and 8th parts, and subdivisions 1, 2, and 3 of the 9th part, 64, 65, 71, 72, 88, 89, and 90 of part 10, and the whole
