OTAGO WASTE LANDS ACT, 1872.

SECTION 65, SUB-SECTION 1.—10TH SCHEDULE.

Naseby, 26th December, 1873.

To the District Land Officer at Naseby.

We hereby give Notice that we intend to con-
struct a Water Race for sheep-washing, irriga-
tion, and domestic purposes, commencing at a point on
the Pigburn stream, about a quarter of a mile above
Hamilton, and terminating in our homestead freehold.
The length of such water-race is three quarters of a
mile or thereabouts, and its intended course is nearly
north and south.

The mean depth and breadth of such water-race is
2ft. by 1ft. 6in., and it is capable of carrying three
shallow heads of water.

Any person objecting to the issue of a licence to the
above-named applicants, must lodge his objection in wri-
ting at my office within fourteen clear days from the date
hereof, and January the 22nd, 1874, is fixed as the day
for deciding the application if unopposed, and notifying
objections, if any.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership
heretofore carried on by the undersigned as
Sawmillers, Timber Merchants, Builders, and Con-
tractors, at Woodlands, in Otago, under the style or firm of
Strang and Company, is dissolved by mutual consent, as
from the twelfth day of January, instant. All accounts
against the said Firm are requested to be sent to the un-
dersigned John Ramsay, at Woodlands, forthwith, who
is authorised to pay all accounts due by, and to collect all
debts due to, said Firm.

AMENDED NOTICE

WHALING BONUS, £500.

THE Provincial Government will pay £250 by
way of Bonus to the first vessel which leaves the
Province fully equipped for a whaling cruise; also £250
on her returning to the Province with a cargo of oil;
Provided that such vessel is owned in, and hails from, a
port within the Province. Vessel not to be under 150
tons. Provided also that she carries at least five boys as
apprentices. Bonus will be paid on production at certi-
ficates from the Harbor Master that these provisions have
been complied with.

Kakanui, Dec. 24th 1873.

KAKANUI HARBOUR BOARD.—The first
meeting of the above Board was held this day in
the Athenaeum, Kakanui.

Present:—Messrs. G. M. Webster, Charles de Vere
Teschmaker, and J. Maclennan.

Proposed by Dr. Webster, seconded by Mr. Charles
de Vere Teschmaker, that Mr. John Maclennan take the
chair.

In pursuance of clause 8 of the Kakanui Harbour
Board Ordinance, the Board proceeded to make the fol-
lowing Bye-laws:

First.—That three (3) members shall form a quorum.
Second.—That Mr. Maclennan be appointed chairman.
Third.—That the ordinary meetings of the Board
should take place on the first Tuesday of each month at
the Kakanui Athenaeum, at Eleven O’Clock, a.m.
Fourth.—That the chairman be empowered to call
special meetings at the request of any two (2) members
of the Board, and that not less than three (3) days’ notice
of a meeting be given.
