the said Incorporated Town of Arrowtown:—Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the said “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865,” and of all other powers in any wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby nominate and appoint Mr. Samuel Goldston to perform the acts required to be done by the Council in the revision of the Citizens’ List for the Town of Arrowtown, and hearing and determining the claims of the Citizens thereof to be inserted in such List and the objections of such Citizens to any other Citizen having his name retained thereon.

As witness my hand this sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

PROCLAMATION
Appointing certain Roads in the Blueskin Road District to be Main District Roads.

By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by the Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871, it is provided that upon the application of the Road Board of any road district the Superintendent may from time to time, if it shall seem fit so to do, by proclamation appoint that any roads or parts of roads, whether within or upon the boundary of such district, shall be main roads or main district roads: And whereas the Road Board for the Blueskin road district has applied to me, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, to appoint the roads hereinafter described to be main district roads:

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in this behalf vested in me by the said “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” do hereby appoint the following roads situate within or upon the boundary of the Blueskin road district aforesaid, to be main district roads (that is to say):—

That portion of road known as Deborah Bay Middle District Road, from its junction with the Port Chalmers and Blueskin road to the Heads.

That portion of road known as Deborah Bay Upper Road, from its junction with the Port Chalmers and Blueskin Road to Heywards Port.

That road from the boundary of Block IV, North Harbour and Blueskin District to Purakanui Village Reserve; also, that road through Sections 25 and 26, Block IV, to Purakanui Bay.

That portion of road from Blueskin township to section 3, block IV, North Harbour and Blueskin District.

That portion of road from south-west corner of section 49, block I, to Main North Road.

That road leaving the Main North Road at section 26, block I, to boundary of the block.

That road leaving the Main North Road at section 24, to boundary of the block.

That road leaving the Main North Road between sections 20 and 21, block 2, to Double Hill.

That road leaving the Main North Road at section 2 of 37, to Double Hill.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this sixth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

In conformity to the 29th section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act, and the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869, for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Queenstown, on or before the 30th day of January, 1874.

Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Queenstown.

Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 13th day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

SCHEDULE.
Timothy O’Connor, on behalf of the Race-course Terrace Gold Mining Co., for 6 acres of land, more or less, as the same may be found after survey to be within the pegs and trenches of the applicants, situated at Race-course Terrace, Maori Point.


NOTIFICATION
Of the establishment of a Pound in the Vicinity of Otepopo.

NOTICE is hereby given that by virtue of the powers vested in me by the “Impounding Ordinance 1872,” I have established a Public Pound situate in the vicinity of Otepopo, in the Province of Otago, New Zealand, and that I have appointed William Macfarlane Pollock, of Otepopo, in the Province of Otago, New Zealand, farmer, to be keeper of the said Pound.

His HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that Mr. Andrew Robert Bruce Thomson, Inspector of Sheep for the Province of Otago, residing at Clyde, has been appointed an Inspector of Gold Fields Depasturing Districts for the said Province. Appointment to date from 1st August, 1873.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
