THE Notice relative to closing Roads, which appeared in the Gazette of the 31st Dec. 1873, is withdrawn. For information see Gazette of the 7th instant, and local newspapers. The Special Meeting of the Executive will be on the 18th February.

CLOSING ROADS.
NOTICE is hereby given, that objections having been lodged with me against the shutting up of certain road lines included in the Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1873, situate in the Districts of Greenvale, Glenkenich, Halfway Bush, Invercargill, Kakanui, Mount Stuart, Makarewa, Portobello and Waitaki, a Special Meeting of the Executive Council will be held in the Government Buildings, Dunedin, on Wednesday, the 18th day of February, 1874, at noon, for the purpose of deciding the said objections, when parties interested are invited to be present.

PROVINCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS.
The following Regulations of the Education Board respecting Provincial Scholarships are published for general information. School teachers are requested to forward to me, before the 1st April, 1874, a list containing the names and ages of intending competitors belonging to their several schools. For Regulations see Gazette published in December last.

PORT CHALMERS WATERWORKS.
TENDERS are invited for the construction of the above works, according to plans and specifications to be seen at the Engineer’s Office, Port Chalmers.
Tenders, marked outside “Tender for Waterworks,” to be addressed to the Corporation Engineer, C. D. Irvine, Esq., Port Chalmers, not later than the 28th February, 1874. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 13th Jan., 1874, for:
Contract No. 849.—Formation of 63 chains of road Glenomaru to Catlin’s River, commencing near Pollock’s mill and extending up the Oamaru stream.
Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tenders obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and Post-office, Fort Molyneux.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 849.”
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 13th Jan., 1874, for:

Contract No. 850.—Formation and gravelling portion of road Mataura Bridge to Toitois, commencing 30 chains north of Dowall’s mill and extending towards Wyndham 207 chains.

Contract No. 851.—Formation and gravelling 40 chains of road Mataura Bridge to Toitois, between the township of Wyndham and bridge.

Contract No. 852.—Construction and gravelling 25 chains of road Clutha to Mataura, situate near Williamson’s, about two miles north of Mataura Bridge.

Contract No. 856.—Gravelling 140 chains of road Mataura Bridge to Toitois commencing at the Mataura Bridge township and extending towards Wyndham.
Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Provincial Engineer, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Mataura Bridge.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 850, 851, 852, or 856,” as the case may be.
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
