REMARKS.—Weather during the month showery and
cold. High winds occurred from 1st to 5th, and on the

the preceding twenty-four hours.

NOTICE.—Waihola Road Board.—Ratepayers are
hereby intimated that the rate is now due for the
year ending March, 1874, and is payable at the house of
the Clerk, Clevedon.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Palmerston District
Road Board intend to levy a general district rate
of one shilling in the Pound on the annual value on all
property throughout the district for the current year
ending 30th June 1873. Objectors (if any) must lodge
their objections in writing, within 30 days from date at
the house of the Clerk, which will be heard at a special
meeting at the North Western Hotel, on the third
Wednesday in January, 1874, 12 o'clock, noon.
The Rate books are open for inspection at the house of
the Clerk.

WAIPORI ROAD BOARD.—The ratepayers of the
above named district are requested to pay the
amount of their respective rates for the current year to
the undersigned on or before the 1st January, 1874, after
which date all unpaid rates will be recovered in a sum-
mary way, without further notice.
For the convenience of ratepayers, I shall attend at the
undermentioned places:—Maungatua, Wood Side Store,
from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, the 27th December, 1873,
and Saturday, the 3rd January, 1874; Waihola Toll
House, from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday, the 29th December,
and Monday, the 5th January, 1874; Waipori School-
house, same evenings, (the 29th and 5th), from 7 to 8 p.m.

NOTICE.—The Peninsula District Road Board having
authorised a general road rate for the year 1873-74,
all ratepayers in that district are requested to pay their
rates to me previous to the third day of January, 1874.
Rates can be paid to me on any lawful day but Saturday.
All rates unpaid after that date will be recovered by legal
process.
Lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

IMPOUNDED on the 18th day of December, 1873, by
Peter Hunter, Clutha Ferry.
One bay filly, branded like M near shoulder, shaggy
mane, long tail, unbroken, and in good condition;
Owner unknown; for trespass on property of the said
Peter Hunter, and for which fifteen shillings damages is
claimed, and in default of being released will be sold at
the public pound, Balclutha, on Friday, the 16th day of
January, 1874, at 12 o'clock noon.

SUPREME COURT.
NOTICE is hereby given that a Sitting of the Supreme
Court for the despatch of criminal and civil busi-
ness, will be holden at the Supreme Court House, at
Dunedin, on Monday, the 5th day of January, 1874, at
the hour of ten o'clock in the forenoon, at which time and
place all persons bound by recognizances to appear as
prosecutors, plaintiffs, defendants, or witnesses, are re-
quired to give their attendance.
NOTICE to Owner, Agent, or Trustee of section 4,
block VI, South Molyneux district. I desire that
the separating fence between sections 2 and 4, be made
immediately, and that such fence be nine posts per chain,
and five wires.
