LEASE OF RUN No. 440.—100,000 ACRES FOR SALE.

NOTICE is hereby given that the lease for ten years of the above run, situated near Martin’s Bay, West Coast, and bounded as follows, commencing at the junction of Pykes Creek with the Holyford River, thence by a line running due east to the summit of the Watershed at the head of the right-hand branch of the Routeburn, thence by a line to Cosmos peak, thence by a line due north to Canterbury boundary, thence westerly along the Canterbury boundary to a point north of the north-west angle of Lake Alabaster, thence southerly to Lake Alabaster along margin of lake and by Pykes Creek, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Survey Office, Queenstown, on the above date, in terms of the “Otago Waste Lands Act 1872,” at the upset price of 3d per acre. Rental to be an assessment of three shillings and sixpence for every head of great cattle, or 7d for every head of small cattle, to be pastured on the run; but the minimum stock on which assessment shall be charged not to be less than 5000 sheep. Lease to commence on 30th January, 1874. A deposit of one-tenth of the purchase money, and of the annual rent shall be payable on the fall of the hammer, the balance within a month.
