The Co-partnership subsisting between John Lawrence Smith and William Smith, as storekeepers, &c., at Evans Flat, near Lawrence, under the name of J. and W. Smith, was dissolved, as of the month of December, 1865; and all funds and effects of the said late firm were transferred to the said William Smith for his own individual use.

SUPREME COURT CIRCUIT SITTING.

NOTICE is hereby given that a Circuit Court Sitting of the Supreme Court for the despatch of Criminal and Civil business will be holden in the Court-house, at Lawrence, on Monday, the Eighth day of December next, at the hour of Ten o’clock in the forenoon, at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances or otherwise to appear as prosecutors, plaintiffs, defendants, or witnesses, are required to give their attendance.

One dark bay horse, branded F off shoulder, like S off neck; owner unknown; for trespassing on Shag Valley Station, for which 10s driving and trespass is claimed; and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound at Maere’s Flat, on Friday, the 5th day of December, 1873, at twelve o’clock noon.

BYE-LAWS

of the Council of the Incorporated Town of Naseby, made under Part 13 of the “Municipal Corporations Act 1867.” Passed and confirmed by the Town Council of Naseby on the 8th day of October, 1873.

Bye-Law No. 1.

A Bye-Law Regulating Vehicles Travelling for Hire.

Vehicles to be licensed.

  1. That no vehicle of any description whatever (excepting stage coaches running long distances) shall carry passengers for hire within the Municipal boundary, unless the same be duly licensed, and the vehicle, harness, and horses used in drawing the same be, in the opinion of the Council or of their Inspector, in a fit condition for public use, with the number of the license, and the number of passengers that the same is allowed to carry, conspicuously and legibly painted thereon, and the driver a sober and competent man.

Number of passengers.

  1. That the number of passengers to be conveyed in each vehicle at any one time shall be determined by the said Council upon the report of their Inspector; and no greater number of passengers than the number so determined on shall at any one and the same time, be carried in such carriage or any pretence whatever; but children in arms shall not be counted as passengers.

  2. That the owner or owners of all public vehicles carrying passengers for hire shall register their names.
