PROCLAMATION
Appointing a certain Road in the Otepopo Road District to be a Main District Road.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” it is provided that upon the application of the Road Board of any road district the Superintendent may from time to time, if it shall seem fit so to do, by proclamation appoint that any roads or parts of roads, whether within or upon the boundary of such district, shall be main roads or main district roads: And whereas the Road Board for the Otepopo road district have applied to me, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, to appoint the road hereinafter described to be a main district road.
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in this behalf vested in me by the said “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” do hereby appoint the following road, situate within or upon the boundary of the Otepopo road district aforesaid, to be a main district road, that is to say:—
VIII. That road leading from the Main North Road between blocks LX and XXVIII, Herbert, to the western boundary of block VII, Otepopo Survey district.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-seventh day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

Appointing certain roads in the Heddon Bush and Jacobs River Subdivision of the Aparima Road District to be Main District Roads.
By His Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” it is provided that upon the application of the Road Board of any road district the Superintendent may from time to time, if it shall seem fit so to do, by proclamation appoint that any roads or parts of roads, whether within or upon the boundary of such district, shall be main roads or main district roads: And whereas the Road Board for the Aparima road district have applied to me, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, to appoint the roads hereinafter described to be main district roads.
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers in this behalf vested in me by the said “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” do hereby appoint the following roads, situate within or upon the boundary of the Aparima Road District aforesaid, to be main district roads, that is to say:—
(1.) The road commencing at the north-west corner of section 14, block XIII, New River Hundred, and extending in a northerly direction through the Oreti Hundred, parallel to the Oreti River, to the northern boundary of the Aparima road district.
(2.) The road commencing at the ford on the Jacobs River and extending in a south-easterly direction through section 4, Oreti Hundred, south of Trig. L, and thence in an easterly direction through the Oreti plains to where it meets the main road which extends from Winton to Wrey’s Bush.
(3.) The road commencing at Waimatuku Stream opposite to the north-west corner of section 36, block XV, Jacobs River Hundred, and extending in a straight course in a northerly direction through the Oreti Hundred (about 8 chains east of Trig. Y) to the south-west corner of section 24, Oreti Hundred.
Also the following in Jacobs River subdivision, viz:—
(4.) The road forming the northern boundary of sections 5 and 19, block III, Jacobs River Hundred.
Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-seventh day of October, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

WASTE LAND BOARD, INVERCARGILL.
BY virtue of the powers vested in me by Section 7th of the Southland Waste Land Act, 1865, I hereby determine that the Waste Land Board appointed under the said Act shall, after the 31st day of October 1873, meet at the Land Office in Invercargill at 12 noon on every Monday and Thursday in each week, instead of, as heretofore, on Tuesdays and Fridays.

THE remainder of the unsold land in Invercargill, south of the Puni creek, will be open for application on Monday, the 1st day of December proximo, in half-acre sections, at an upset price of £10 per section, in accordance with the Resolution of the Provincial Council and in terms of clause 2 of the “Southland Waste Lands Amendment Act 1872.”
