One red and white cow, like P near rump, white face
owners unknown, for trespassing on Mr Kirkland's farm
and destroying field of turnips, for which one pound per
head damages is claimed; and in default of being released
the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at East
Taieri on Friday, the 19th day of September 1873, at 12
o'clock noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 30th day of August, 1873, by
Thomas Duncan—

for which no damage is claimed; and in default of being

at Oamaru, on Friday, the 19th day of September, 1873,
at twelve o'clock noon.

NOTICE.

To the Licenseholders within Tuturau Hundred.

IN terms of the 115th Clause of the "Otago Waste
Lands Act 1872," a meeting of the licenseholders in
Tuturau Hundred was held on the 25th day of June last,
when it was decided that great cattle only should be
depastured on the Hundred for the current year, and
notice is hereby given that all sheep found depasturing
on the Hundred after this date, will be dealt with according to law.

NOTICE.—The North-East Valley Road Board intend
on Saturday, the 6th September, to make a General
Rate of one shilling (1s.) in the £ over the whole district,
for the year ending June, 1874. The Rate Book can be
seen at the hotel of Mr. Thomas Brown, North-East
Valley, on and after Monday, the 25th August, 1873,
for ten days.

" Invercargill for Bluff at 2 p.m.
" Invercargill for Winton at 4 p.m.
" Bluff for Invercargill at 4 p.m.

A train will leave Winton on Saturday evenings at
5.15, returning from Invercargill on Monday mornings
at 7. There are no trains on Sunday.

WHEREAS, on the night of the 8th instant, an unoccupied house, built of wood and iron, and recently used as an hotel, situate at Carrickton, Cromwell district, the property of Charles Colclough, valued at £150, was destroyed by fire: And whereas at an inquest held on the 12th instant, at the Star of the West Hotel, Carrickton, to enquire as to the origin of the said fire, the Jury returned the following verdict: "That the said house was wilfully, maliciously, and feloniously destroyed by fire, by some person or persons at present unknown to the jurors." Notice is hereby given that a reward of £50
