NOTICE TO DISTRICT ROAD BOARDS.
AS it is of importance that all road deviations should be recorded on the maps of the Land Office, and on those in the office of the Provincial Secretary, it is requested that in future whenever a new line of road is laid off by any of the surveyors to the District Road Boards, this office may be notified, and either the original or a certified copy of the plan forwarded for the above purpose. It would be as well, also, to forward any such plans of roads as have not hitherto been recorded.

Contract No. 749.—Construction of 120 Chains of Road, Dunedin to Blueskin, via Water of Leith.
Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.
Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 749.”
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 23rd September, 1873, for—
1st. Contract No. 751—Metalling on road Clinton to Waipahi, commencing at a point 30 chains west of Cabbage Tree Creek, and extending towards Waipahi, 39 chains.
2nd. Contract No. 752—Metalling of 27 chains of road on road Clinton to Waipahi, near Scobie’s.
3rd. Contract No. 753—Metalling of 27 chains of road commencing at end of metal, Clinton, and extending towards Waipahi, including unmetalled portion of road through Clinton.
4th. Contract No. 754—Metalling of 21 chains of road Clutha to Mataura, end of metal to Boundary Creek, Clinton.
5th. Contract No. 755—Metalling 63 chains of road Glenomaru to Catlin’s River, between Main Road and Henderson’s.
6th. Contract No. 756—Metalling of 33 chains of road Southern Trunk to Molyneux, from Puera Bridge to top of Murdock’s Hotel (unmetalled portion).
Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Balclutha.
Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works tender for Contract No. 751, 752, 753, 754, 755, 756,” as the case may be.
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

Tenders to be sent in to the clerk, addressed to the Chairman by the 9th September, 1873. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
