Leave Winton for Invercargill at 8.15 a.m.
Invercargill for Bluff at 9.46 a.m.
Bluff for Invercargill at 11.45 a.m.
Invercargill for Bluff at 2 p.m.
Invercargill for Winton at 4 p.m.
Bluff for Invercargill at 4 p.m.
A train will leave Winton on Saturday evenings at 5.15, returning from Invercargill on Monday mornings at 7. There are no trains on Sunday.
SOUTH WEST DISTRICT PROVINCE OF OTAGO.
ON and after the 23rd of June next, that portion of section 11, Aparima Hundred surveyed in excess, containing about 470 acres more or less, will be open for application at the Land Office, Invercargill.
OTAGO ROADS ORDINANCE, 1871.
Alteration of Polling Places.
WHEREAS by notice and appointment dated the eighteenth day of June, 1872, published in Otago Provincial Gazette, the polling places for the respective districts and subdivisions of districts therein mentioned, under and by virtue of the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” were duly fixed and appointed until the same shall be altered or varied : And whereas it is expedient that the polling places in the districts and subdivisions of districts after-mentioned should be altered :
Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby revoke the appointment of the polling places for the districts and subdivisions after-mentioned made by the notice and appointment dated the 18th day of June, 1872, and in lieu thereof do hereby appoint the places after-mentioned to be the polling places for the respective districts and subdivisions of districts after-mentioned at which the poll shall be taken at all elections under the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871,” held for the same until duly altered or varied, of which notice is hereby given to all concerned :-
District. Polling Place.
North Taieri Wingatui Subdivision, at Drillshed, Mosgiel.
Kaikorai Abbotsford Subdivision, at the Kaikorai Hotel.
Given under my hand and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this 5th day of June, 1873.

Warrant abolishing Polling Places and appointing others in lieu thereof.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, GREETING :
WHEREAS by “The Regulation of Elections Act 1870,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, by warrant under his hand, from time to time to appoint polling places for each electoral district within or within one mile of the limits thereof, and to appoint any one of such polling places to be the principal polling place for the district, and all or any of such polling places from time to time to abolish, and, if he think fit, to appoint other polling places in lieu of those abolished, and that every such Warrant shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette : Provided always that no polling place shall be appointed by the Governor under the said Act unless he shall be first satisfied that the place to be appointed is more convenient than any other for at least twenty electors to record their votes thereat :
And whereas by Warrant under the hand of the Governor, certain places, viz. :-
For the District of Caversham :
The School-house, Caversham ;
For the District of Kawarau :
House of Louis Grant, Bendigo ;
For the District of Tuapeka :
Lancaster’s store, Beaumont Ferry ;
For the District of Aparima :
John Howell’s house, Flints Bush ;
were appointed polling places for the Province of Otago for the election of members of the Provincial Council thereof :
And whereas it is expedient to abolish the same :
Now know ye that I, Sir George Alfred Arney, the Officer Administering the Government of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and authority in me vested by the said Act, do hereby abolish the above-named polling places for the above-named districts in the Province of Otago for the election of members of the Provincial Council, and do appoint in lieu thereof—
For the District of Caversham :
The Drillshed, Caversham.
For the District of Kawarau :
Josiah Mitchinson’s store, Bendigo.
For the District of Tuapeka :
The School-house, Beaumont Ferry.
For the District of Aparima :
The School-house, Flints Bush.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Alfred Arney, Knight, the Officer Administering the Government, and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
