NORTH-EAST VALLEY ROAD DISTRICT.
NOTICE.—A meeting of ratepayers entitled to vote at the ensuing election will be held to nominate candidates for election to represent the undermentioned subdivisions for the year ending June 1874, as per clause 98, Otago Roads Ordinance 1871. Signal Hill subdivision at North-East Valley Schoolhouse on Monday, the 2nd June, at 12 noon; Francis Smith, returning officer. Pine Hill subdivision at Cattle Market hotel, North-East Valley, on Tuesday, the 3rd day of June, at 12 noon; Isaac Green, returning officer. Harlington subdivision at Schoolhouse, Sawyers Bay, on Wednesday, the 4th day of June, at 12 noon; John Barrowman, returning officer. In the event of a poll being demanded, it will be held in the above places on Thursday, the 12th June, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.

I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water Race for agricultural purposes, commencing at a point on Terrace Creek, Hill’s Creek, and terminating at a point on Hill’s Creek.
The length of such Race is one mile, or thereabouts, and its intended course is east to west. The mean depth and breadth of such Race is eight by eighteen inches, and it is capable of carrying half a sluice head of water.

The length of such race is one and a half miles, or thereabouts, and its intended course is north and south, and is capable of carrying two sluice heads of Water.

I HEREBY Give Notice that I intend to construct a Water Race for the purpose of driving a Woollen Factory and Flour Mill, commencing at the One and Two Mile Creeks, at the points where the water races owned by me take their rise, and terminating at section 1, block XVII., town of Queenstown.
The length of such race is three-quarters of a mile, or thereabouts, and its intended course is towards the east and will run through Crown lands, my private property, section three, block XX., Shotover District, and will cross Glasgow street, Kilmarnock street, Northumberland street, Lake street, Lake Esplanade or Beach street.
The mean depth and breadth of such race is fifteen inches by twenty-four inches, and it is capable of carrying three (3) sluice-heads of water.
