Ratepayers within the respective subdivisions of the above district, are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates for the current year, to me, on or before Tuesday, the 25th March, 1873, or legal proceedings will be taken to recover the same.

BLUESKIN ROAD DISTRICT.

RATEPAYERS are respectfully requested to pay their respective rates to me, at my house, Purakanui, as early as possible. For convenience, I shall attend at Mr. Kettle’s Store, Port Chalmers, from one to four p.m. on Saturday, March 15; at the Tollhouse, Blueskin, from one to four p.m. on Monday, 17th; and at Schoolhouse, Lower Harbour, from four to five p.m. on Tuesday, 18th.

WEST TAIERI POUND.

The chestnut horse, no brand, blaze down face, and the dark bay horse, branded something like X off shoulder, and advertised to be sold 21st March, have been claimed.


IMPOUNDED

IMPOUNDED on the 15th day of March, 1873, by order of Mr. Oulling, Hilgrove, Moeraki.
One bay mare, branded AJ off shoulder, supposed to belong to ex-Sergeant Ryan, for trespassing on enclosed paddock at Trotter’s Creek, and in default of being released, the above mare will be sold at the public pound, at Hampden, on the 4th day of April, 1873, at 12 o’clock noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 13th day of March, 1873, by J. Michael Tynan, West Taieri:
Two red and white bullocks, branded like J L off rump, for trespassing on grass paddock, for which no damages are claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the public pound at West Taieri, on Friday, the 4th day of April, 1873, at twelve o’clock noon.

CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF DUNEDIN

NORTHERN GENERAL CEMETERY.

The following is the scale of Cemetery Fees adopted by the City Council, on the 29th day of January, 1873, approved by His Honor the Superintendent and the Executive Council, and published in compliance with section 7 of the “North Dunedin Cemetery Act 1872.”

The price chargeable for Burial Allotments shall be as follows:

BYE-LAWS of the Otepopo Hundred, passed at Meeting of 22nd February, 1873.

  1. No cattle of any description shall be depastured on the unsold land within the Hundred except by license-holders.

  2. No sheep shall be depastured on the unsold land.

  3. No entire horse over twelve months old, and no bull over six months old, shall be depastured without special permission of the Wardens.

  4. All license-holders shall, on or before the 1st April, 1873, register with the nearest Warden a statement of the number of cattle and horses depastured by them on the unsold lands within the Hundred, with their brands.

  5. Before removing or slaughtering cattle, owners shall give notice in writing to the nearest Warden.

  6. Any person about to bring cattle on the run shall, one week before doing so, furnish to the nearest Warden notice in writing, with such information as shall give opportunity for inspection.

  7. No person shall be allowed to depasture on the unsold lands in the Hundred more than one head of cattle for every twenty-five acres of land owned or occupied by him in the Hundred.

  8. All stray cattle may be impounded.

  9. The penalty for any breach of the foregoing Byelaws shall be a sum not exceeding five pounds, to be recovered in a summary manner, in accordance with the 45th clause of the “Southland Waste Lands Act 1865.”
