NASEBY SLUDGE CHANNEL.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secre-
tary for Works until noon of Saturday, 15th March,
1873, for

Contract No. 1—Construction of about ten miles of
Sludge Channel.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender
obtained at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works,
Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Naseby.

Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No. 1”
Sludge Channel.

The Government does not undertake to accept the
lowest or any tender.


PAYMENT TO BE MADE IN LAND OR CASH AT
THE OPTION OF THE GOVERNMENT.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secre-
tary for Works, until noon of Tuesday, 25th March,
1873, for

Contract No. 696—Formation and Gravelling of 88
chains of road at the Fern Hills, Winton to Beaumore.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of
tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads
and Works, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Winton.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works tender for
Contract No. 696.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the low-
est or any tender.

and Works, Dunedin, and at Police Camp, Lawrence.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works tender for
contract No. 705.”

HALFWAY BUSH ROAD DISTRICT—Tenders
will be received by the undersigned, at his office,
No. 1 Chambers, Princes street, Dunedin, up to noon of
Saturday, the 22nd March, for Road Works in the above

specifications to be seen, on application as above.

TENDERS wanted for cuttings and other works on the
Corstorphine road. Messrs. McLaren, Scott and
Thomson, will meet intending contractors at Mr. Sidey’s
gate, at 1 o’clock p.m. on Saturday, 22nd instant, to show
the works to be done. Plans and specifications to be
seen at 21—7s 6d.

MR. McLAREN’S.

TENDERS will be received by the Seaside District
Road Board, until noon of Friday, 4th April next,
for certain road work, and building a bridge over the
Otokia Creek. Mr. Brash will point out the several
works in the Walton subdivision to intending contractors,
on the 22nd March current; and Mr. McPhail will show
the work in the Brighton subdivision, on the 20th. Ten-
ders to be lodged with the Chairman, Mr. Thomas
Howorth, Walton Park, or to Mr. Graham, Boat
Harbour.

March, 1873, for Carting for half-year commencing on the
1st April next.

CORPORATION OF INVERCARGILL DEBENTURES.

AMENDED NOTICE.

SIX PER CENT.

SEALED TENDERS will be received up to 2 p.m. of
Wednesday, the 26th March, 1873, for Seventy (70),
Fifty Pound (£50) Debentures, to have a currency of
twenty years from the date of issue, and bear interest at
the rate of six per cent. per annum, payable half-yearly
in Dunedin or Invercargill.

The highest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Debentures.”

The interest on the loan will be a first charge on the
rates, and the Debentures will be redeemable by a sinking
fund invested by trustees appointed by the Superinten-
dent.

The money raised is to be expended on the drainage of
the town and the formation of streets.

The rates for the financial year ending 19th April, 1872,
amounted to £1046 9s 0d, of which £19 4s 0d remains
unpaid. The total revenue for 1872 was £3002.

The rates for the year ending 19th April, 1873, amount
to £1290.

The financial position of the Corporation is shown by
the balance sheet, published in the “Provincial Govern-
ment Gazette,” of 15th January last.

WANTED, a Teacher for the Waihola Gorge School;
Salary, Government subsidy and school fees. One
who can teach singing preferred. Applications to be sent
