MEETING

A meeting will be held at the School-house, Tomahawk, on Wednesday, January 21, 1873, at 2 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of electing a School Committee for the ensuing year.

GAZETTE.

Each person who fails to get the ‘Gazette’ regularly, will please send at once to the undersigned the name of the Post Office to which the ‘Gazette’ should be sent, as it is believed that in most cases the neglect to put the Post Office after the name and address of the person is the main cause why the ‘Gazette’ does not reach its destination sometimes.

LINDHURST ROAD BOARD

SEPARATE tenders will be received, addressed to ‘Chairman, Lindhurst Road Board, Halfway Bush,’ until Wednesday, 8th January, 1873, at 12 o’clock, at which time tenders will be opened—and marked ‘Tender’ for the aftermentioned work:

No. 1. Construction of three pile bridges.
No. 2. Sundry road formations and gravelling, north of the Bridge Inn and near the aforesaid bridges.
No. 3. Road formation, gravelling, &c., north and south of Mabel Bush.

Plans and specifications to be seen at the Bridge Inn. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

Scott, Green Island: one white cow, cut ears, branded like J (with curve across) off rump; owner unknown; for trespassing on growing crops, Green Island; and in default of being released, the above cow will be sold at the Public Pound at Caversham, on Friday, the 17th day of January, 1873, at 12 o’clock noon.

IMMIGRANTS’ PASSAGE MONEY.

NOTICE to Assisted Immigrants who arrived in the Province before the year 1869.

All immigrants who have arrived in the Province by ships prior to those referred to in the notice hereunder, and who have not paid their passage money, are requested to do so at once by remitting the same to me. Proceedings will be taken to recover in all cases of non-payment. When necessary the time for payment will be extended.

IMMIGRATION MONEY.—Assisted Immigrants by the ships which arrived during 1869, 1870, and 1871.

Are requested to forward to John Logan, Immigration Agent, Dunedin, the amount of their Passage Money. Proceedings will be taken to recover in all cases of non-payment without further notice.

WAIPORI ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice.

Ratepayers within the respective subdivisions of the above District are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me at my house (in the Maungatua Subdivision of the Waipori Road District) on or before Friday, the 31st January, 1873. For the convenience of ratepayers I shall attend at the undermentioned places:—Maungatua, Woodside store, from 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursdays, the 23rd and 30th January 1873; Waihola Toll-house, from 1 to 4 p.m., on Fridays the 24th and 31st January; and at Waipori School-house, same evenings (24th and 31st) from 7 to 8 p.m.

SUPREME COURT.

NOTICE is hereby given, that a sitting of the Supreme Court for the despatch of Criminal and Civil Business will be held at the Supreme Court House at Dunedin, on Monday, the sixth day of January next, at the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon; at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances to appear as prosecutors, defendants, or witnesses, are required to give their attendance.

OTAGO DOCK TRUST.

THE Trustees of the Otago Graving Dock invite tenders for Mortgage Bonds to the amount of £10,000 (in £100 Bonds), to be issued under the authority of ‘The Otago Dock Debt Trust Act 1872.’ Tenders will be received till noon on Monday, January 20th, 1873, and may be for the whole or a portion of the sum, but the Trustees do not bind themselves to accept the highest or any tender.

These Bonds will have a currency of thirty years from the date of issue; will bear interest at the rate of 6 per cent. per annum, and interest and principal will be made payable in Dunedin, or in London, Melbourne, or Sydney, at the option of the purchasers. After 1st November, 1878, they will form a first charge on the property and income of the Trust.

Further information and copies of the Act may be obtained from the chairman (R. B. Martin), or from the undersigned, at the office of the Trustees, Temple Chambers, Princes street, Dunedin.
