NOTICES
Peninsula Road District
NOTICE.—Ratepayers in the Peninsula Road District having any objections to the amount of their assessment are requested to state their objections in writing and lodge them with the clerk, on or before the 26th December instant, when the board will meet at noon, and hear objectors in support of their objections at 2 o'clock p.m.—John H. Patrick, Clerk to the Board. Dec. 9, 1872.
Hampden Road Board
NOTICE.—The Hampden Road Board having decided to levy a general rate of one shilling (1s.) in the pound on all rateable property within the district for the year ending June 30th 1873, notice is hereby given that the rate roll will lie for inspection by ratepayers at the store of Mr. P. F. Stoddart, Hampden. All objections to the above rate must be lodged with the Clerk on or before the 26th December. Notice is also given that a special meeting of the Road Board will be held on Wednesday, the 8th January, 1873, at 1 o'clock p.m., at the Mechanics' Institute, Hampden, for the purpose of hearing objections.—Peter W. Kuri Bush District Road Board
NOTICE.—The Kuri Bush District Road Board intend to levy a road rate of one shilling in the pound for year ending June 1873, on all rateable property within the district. A statement of the proposed rate is left for the inspection of ratepayers at Mr. M'Kay's, Taieri village. Objections (if any) are to be lodged in writing on or before 3 o'clock on Friday, the 20th December, at the Schoolhouse, Kuri Bush, as there will be a meeting of the Board to hear and decide on same.—David Kirke, Chairman Kuri Bush Road Board. 9th December, 1872.
Sea-Side District Road Board
NOTICE.—It is hereby notified that on the 3rd December a general rate of 9d. in the pound, and also a special district rate of 3d. in the pound, was made for the year ending 1873, and payable on and after 12th January 1873. Ratepayers having objections to the valuation are required to state their objections in writing and forward to the Clerk, and the objections will be heard at a special meeting of the Board to be held on 21st January, 1873, at Mr. Graham's, at 2 p.m.—Allan Cameron, Boat Harbor, Clerk to Board.
Taieri Road Board
NOTICE.—The ratepayers of the respective subdivisions of this district are hereby notified that the Highway Rate of 6d. in the pound is now payable, and that the Collector will call for payment thereof on and after the 20th inst.—A. Lees, Clerk to the Board. Taieri, 7th December, 1872.
North Taieri Road Board
NOTICE.—The North Taieri Road Board has authorised Messrs. Gibson and Couper to impound all Cattle found trespassing on the North Taieri District Roads, on and after this date, 9th day of December, 1872.—Wm. M'Lean, Clerk to the Board.

Bruce Agricultural and Pastoral Association
The Fifth Annual Show of the above Society will take place on the 24th December next. Wm. Porteous, Hon. Sec. 28th November, 1872.
Impounded Cattle
IMPOUNDED on the 30th day of November, 1872, by John Finn, Inspector of Nuisances, one white polled cow, branded AM on off rump; one red and white cow, branded JW on off rump, earmarked, with calf at foot; owners unknown; for wandering on the streets, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Balclutha, on Friday, the 27th day of December, 1872, at 12 o'clock noon.—George Bain, Poundkeeper of the Balclutha Pound.
IMPOUNDED on the 5th day of December, 1872, by B. J. Jeffries, Clutha District, one light roan Filly, with white face, no brand visible; owner unknown; trespassing on his garden, for which four shillings are claimed for damages, and in default of being released, the above filly will be sold at the Public Pound at Balclutha, on Friday, the 27th day of December, 1872, at 12 o'clock noon.—George Bain, Poundkeeper of the Balclutha Pound.
The red bullock advertised to be sold on the 20th, has been claimed.—G. B.
Supreme Court
NOTICE.—Notice is hereby given, that a Sitting of the Supreme Court for the despatch of Criminal and Civil Business will be holden at the Supreme Court House at Dunedin on Monday, the sixth day of January next, at the hour of ten o'clock in the forenoon; at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances to appear as prosecutors, defendants, or witnesses are required to give their attendance.

Palmerston District Road Board
NOTICE.—Palmerston District Road Board have decided to levy the following special Highway Rate, viz.:—Bushey subdivision, one shilling in the pound; Blue Mountain subdivision, tenpence in the pound; Goodwood subdivision, sixpence in the pound; and Meadowbank subdivision, threepence in the pound for the current year. Notice is hereby given that all objections must be lodged with the clerk before the 18th day of December, on which day at 2 o'clock the Board will meet at the North-Western hotel to hear such objections (if any).—John Keen, Clerk to the Board. Waipori Road Board
NOTICE.—The Waipori Road Board, having decided to levy a General Rate of 6d in the £ on all rateable property within the district. Notice is hereby given that a special meeting of the Board will be held at Waipori Schoolhouse at 12 o'clock noon on Thursday, the 19th December next, to hear objections, if any.—James Siz, Clerk to the Board.
