Outram Road Board

NOTICE.—Outram Road Board having made a Rate of sixpence in the pound over West Taieri Subdivision, and of one shilling in the pound over Henley Subdivision, on all rateable property within the district, for the current year, notice is hereby given that all objections against the rate must be lodged with the Clerk before the 31st December, 1872.—GEORGE CROCKETT, Clerk to Board. Seaside District Road Board

NOTICE.—The Seaside District Road Board have decided to levy a General Highway Rate of ninepence per pound upon all rateable property within the said district, for the current year. The rate roll, containing the valuation of property in the respective subdivisions of the Board, will be open for inspection of the ratepayers, in conformity with the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871-2,” at the house of Mr. Graham, Boat Harbour.—ALLAN CAMERON, Clerk. November 19, 1872.

NOTICE is hereby given that sections 8, 9 and 10, block V, Waitahuna West district, containing respectively 229a 0r 23p, 313a 0r 12p and 310a 2r 0p, will be offered for sale by public auction at the auction rooms of Mr. H. W. Capstick, Tokomairiro, on Friday, 20th day of December next, at noon, at the upset price of 10s per acre.

Half-Way Bush Road Board

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Half-way Bush Road Board to levy a rate of one shilling in the pound for the current year over the whole of the above-named district. The assessment roll will lie for the inspection of ratepayers or persons claiming to be interested therein at the Post Office (Mr Buntin’s), Half-way Bush, from Thursday, the 21st day of November, until Friday, the 6th day of December prox. Objections to be lodged at the Post Office, Half-way Bush, on or before Friday, the 6th December next, addressed to the Clerk, on the evening of which day at six o’clock the Board will meet at the Schoolhouse, Half-way Bush, to hear such objections (if any). Half-way Bush, 20th November, 1872.

Seaside District Road Board

NOTICE.—The Seaside District Road Board have decided to levy a Special Highway Rate of threepence per pound upon all rateable property within the said district, for the current year. The rate roll, containing the valuation of property in the respective subdivisions of the Board, will be open for inspection of the ratepayers, in conformity with the “Otago Roads Ordinance 1871-2,” at the house of Mr. Graham, Boat Harbour.—ALLAN CAMERON, Clerk. November 19, 1872.

Peninsula Road Board

NOTICE.—The Peninsula Road Board has agreed to levy a rate of one shilling in the pound on all rateable property, tenements, &c., within the district, for the current year. The valuation roll will lie for inspection by the ratepayers, at the Highcliff Schoolhouse, and a roll of each sub-division, at the Schoolhouse of the same, on and after the 30th day of November, 1872. The office of the Board for the transaction of general business is the Highcliff Schoolhouse, where the meetings are held on the first Saturday of every month.—JOHN H. PATRICK, Clerk to the Board. Nov. 18, 1872.

Impounded Animals and Damages Claimed

IMPOUNDED on the 9th day of November, 1872, by Mr. J. Loughnan, Mount Pisa Station:

  • One bay gelding, branded like 4 off shoulder, RV near shoulder, one fore foot white.
  • One brown gelding, like blotch under off shoulder, star.
  • One bay mare, like E off shoulder, hind feet white, star; one bay mare.
  • One grey gelding, like a heart within circle off shoulder.
  • One chestnut mare, like MJ conjoined near shoulder.
  • One black filly, like D near shoulder.
  • One bay mare, illegible brand near shoulder, white on forehead.
  • One bay gelding, like G off shoulder, like blotch in circle near shoulder.
  • One bay mare, like RH near shoulder, near hind foot white.
  • One brown mare.

For which ten shillings per head is claimed damages and expenses, and in default of the above horses being released, they will be sold on Friday, 6th December, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—WILLIAM WILLIAMS, Poundkeeper.

IMPOUNDED on the 15th day of November, 1872, by John Geary:

  • One bay mare, white spot on forehead.
  • One bay colt-foal, no visible brands; owner unknown; trespassing on paddock, Portobello.

£3 damages is claimed for trespass and driving, and in default of being released, the above horses will be sold at the Public Pound, at South Dunedin, on Friday, the 6th day of December, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—JAMES BAIN, Poundkeeper of the South Dunedin Pound.

Registration of “The Kakanui Water Race Company”

I, the undersigned, William Williamson, of Kye Burn, in the Province of Otago, miner, hereby make application to Register “The Kakanui Water Race Company (Registered),” under the provisions of “The Mining Companies Limited Liability Act 1865,” “The Mining Companies Limited Liability Amendment Act 1869,” and “The Mining Companies Limited Liability Act Amendment Act 1870,” and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular:

  1. The name and style of the Company is “The Kakanui Water Race Company (Registered).”
  2. The place of operations is at Marewhenua.
  3. The nominal capital of the Company is twelve thousand pounds, in six hundred shares of twenty pounds each.
  4. The amount already paid up is two hundred and seventy pounds.
  5. The name of the manager is William Williamson.
  6. The office of the Company is at Marewhenua.
  7. The names and several residences of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each, are as follows:
