CONTRACTS AND TENDERS

Contract No. 666—Formation of portion of road Tokomairiro to Coast, recommencing at Devil’s Bridge, and extending towards Two Stone Hill.

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at Police Station, Tokomairiro.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works, tender for Contract Nos. 665 or 666,” as the case may be.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


KURI BUSH ROAD BOARD—Tenders are invited from parties willing to act as valuator for the above district. Tenders to be made in one sum, and sent addressed Chairman, Kuri Bush Road Board, Post Office, Otakia, not later than noon of Friday, 18th October, 1872. The Board will not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any tender.—George H. Christie, Clerk for the Board.


FENCING—Tenders to be lodged at Government Offices, Dunedin, by noon of Tuesday, 15th October, 1872, for erecting about 25 chains of Bush Post and Rail Fencing, at Industrial School. Further particulars may be obtained from Master of School.


SEASIDE ROAD BOARD—Tenders required for Embanking north end of Taylor’s Creek Bridge. Plans, &c., can be seen with the Chairman, Mr. Howorth, or Mr. Graham, Taylor’s Creek. The Board do not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any tender. Tenders to be sent not later than the 21st day of October next, addressed to—Thomas Howorth, Chairman.


GREEN ISLAND ROAD BOARD—Fresh Tenders are invited by above Board up till Monday, 21st current, for building of Stone and Iron Girder Bridge, over Kaikorai Stream, at Murray, Roberts Co.’s Works, Green Island. Plans, specification, &c., can be seen at house of undersigned. The Board do not bind themselves to accept the lowest or any tender.—William Thomson, Clerk Road Board. Green Island, 7th of October, 1872.


WANTED, Tenders for the offices of Clerk, Collector, Valuator, Treasurer and Engineer for the Lindhurst Road Board. Separate tenders for each office, but the whole of the offices (except Treasurer) may be held by one person. Tenderers to state the amount of salary per annum, and to furnish testimonials as to competency, and to be prepared to give security if required. Tenders to be addressed to Chairman of Road Board on or before the 18th October at noon. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.—Thomas M’Math, Chairman of Lindhurst Road Board. TEACHER WANTED for the Wangaloa side school. Salary £60 per annum, with all the school fees and a residence. Applications with testimonials to be lodged on or before the 16th October, 1872.—Alex. Mitchell, Secretary School Committee, Wangaloa.

IMMIGRANTS’ PASSAGE-MONEY—Notice to Assisted Immigrants who arrived in the Province before the year 1869.

All immigrants who have arrived in the Province by ships prior to those referred to in the notice hereunder, and who have not paid their passage-money, are requested to do so at once by remitting same to me. Proceedings will be taken to recover in all cases of non-payment. When necessary the time for payment will be extended.

INCENDIARISM

Maliciously Setting Fire to a House.
£50 Reward.

Whereas on the morning of Wednesday, the 24th ultimo, a fire broke out in the unoccupied house of Arthur John Bamford, at Mornington, value £500, by which the same was totally destroyed: And whereas there is no doubt but that the fire was maliciously caused by some evil-disposed person or persons: Notice is hereby given, that a reward of Fifty Pounds will be paid by the Provincial Government of Otago for such information as will lead to the conviction of the person or persons by whom the fire was originated.
