ABSTRACT FROM PREVIOUS GAZETTES
of Impounding Notices

30th August, Friday, noon, a cow, a steer, and a horse will be sold at Palmerston Pound.


TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Works, until noon of Tuesday, 3rd September, 1872, for Contract No. 658—Construction of Timber Bridge over the Owake stream on road, Glenomaru to Catlin’s River.

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; and at the Post-office, Port Molyneux.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 658.”
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

NORTH-EAST VALLEY District.—Tenders required on or before the 30th inst., from persons willing to perform the office of Clerk, Collector and Valuator to the above District. All persons tendering must enclose testimonials and names of proposed sureties. The lowest or any Tender will not necessarily be accepted. Applications to be addressed, “Chairman, at Mr. G. Calder’s, North-East Valley.”


COALS.—Tenders will be received, by telegraph or otherwise, at the Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Friday, 30th August 1872, for supplying the Railway Department, in the District of Southland, with Coal, until 31st December, 1872. For further particulars, apply to Railway Manager, Invercargill. The Government will not be bound to accept the lowest or any tender.


WANTED, an active man as Janitor for the High School. Salary £100 per annum, and free residence. Applications to be lodged at the Education Office on or before the 28th instant.

APPLICATIONS are invited for the offices of Head Master, Second Master, and School Mistress for the Invercargill Grammar School about to be established.

The salary of the Head Master will be not less than £300 per annum, with residence. The salary of the Second Master not less than £175 per annum, and that of the School Mistress, not less than £100 per annum.

The successful applicants will be expected to be in Invercargill to commence their duties after the Christmas vacation.

Applications must be received not later than the first week in September, 1872, and be accompanied by testimonials and references, to be addressed to the “Chairman, Invercargill School Committee, Invercargill, New Zealand.”


WANTED, a Teacher for the Saddle Hill School; salary—Government allowance and School fees, a good five-roomed residence, and 10 acres of glebe; a married man preferred. Applications, with testimonials, to be sent in not later than the 26th August.—James Pryde, Saddle Hill, Green Island.


MONDAY, 2nd September.

EDUCATION RESERVES.—The following Education Reserves will be leased at the rooms of Mr. Capstick, Tokomairiro, on Monday, the 2nd day of September, immediately after the sale of the Crown Lands:—

Section 14, block III, Kaitangata, 197a 2r
Section 17, block VI, Kaitangata, 116a 2r.

Copies of the regulations and conditions of lease can be had on application at the Education Office.

WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

EDUCATION RESERVES, SOUTHLAND.

APPLICATIONS will be received by Mr. John H. Baker, Survey Office, Invercargill, from persons wishing to lease any of the Reserves as formerly advertised.

Copies of the Otago Regulations, and conditions for the Leasing of Education Reserves can be obtained from Mr. Baker, Invercargill.


NOTICE TO APPLICANTS for UNSURVEYED LAND, under “Otago Waste Land Act 1866.”

It is hereby notified to the applicants whose names appear in the subjoined Schedule, that the Waste Land Board has declared them to be the purchasers of the sections set opposite their names in the Schedule, and that the purchase money of these sections must be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue in Invercargill, or on or before Wednesday, the 4th day of September, 1872, otherwise the applications will be deemed withdrawn, cancelled, and void, and the deposit made at the time of lodging the application will be forfeited.

The Sections in the subjoined Schedule being now surveyed, the applicants are informed that the Waste Land Board will proceed to dispose of the same, and will receive applications for the purchase thereof on the 10th day of September, 1872.
