BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A
WOOL-PACK AND SACK MANUFACTORY
IN OTAGO.
THE Provincial Government being desirous of encouraging the manufacture of Wool-packs and Sacks, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise, and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £1000 as under:—
On the erection of buildings and machinery to the value of at least £2000—£500.
On the production of Sacks or Wool packs to a value of not less than £500—£250.
On the production of a further quantity of Sacks or Wool-packs to the value of not less than £1000—£250.
The cloth in each case to be produced by machinery permanently established in the Province, and to be manufactured either wholly or to a large extent from Phormium Tenax, or other indigenous plants, or from other material grown in the Province.
Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until the 10th of October, 1872, and should state the estimated cost and productive power of the machinery proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £1000 to produce sacks and woolpacks to the value of £1500 within three years from the date on which their offer is accepted.
The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.

GLASS BOTTLE MANUFACTORY.
THE Provincial Government being desirous of encouraging the manufacture of Glass Bottles in Otago, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise, and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £300, as under:—
On the erection of building and plant, of a value of not less than £500—£100.
On production of 100 gross of bottles—£100.
On production of a further quantity of 200 gross—£100.
Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, and should state the estimated cost of the works proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £250 to produce 500 gross of Bottles within two years from the date on which the tender is accepted.
The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.

TENDERS
TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 20th August, 1872, for
Contract No. 657.—Metalling 96 chains of road “Oamaru Town to Awamoko Creek.”
Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; and at the Police Station, Oamaru.
Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 657.”
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

COALS.
Tenders will be received, by telegraph or otherwise, at the Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Friday, 30th August 1872, for supplying the Railway Department, in the District of Southland, with Coal, until 31st December, 1872. For further particulars, apply to Railway Manager, Invercargill.
The Government will not be bound to accept the lowest or any tender.
WANTED
WANTED an active man as Janitor for the High School. Salary £100 per annum, and free residence. Applications to be lodged at the Education Office on or before the 28th instant.

APPLICATIONS
APPLICATIONS are invited for the offices of Head Master, Second Master, and School Mistress for the Invercargill Grammar School about to be established.
The salary of the Head Master will be not less than £300 per annum, with residence. The salary of the Second Master not less than £175 per annum, and that of the School Mistress not less than £100 per annum.
The successful applicants will be expected to be in Invercargill to commence their duties after the Christmas vacation.
Applications must be received not later than the first week in September, 1872, and be accompanied by testimonials and references, to be addressed to the “Chairman, Invercargill School Committee, Invercargill, New Zealand.”
EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS.
In consequence of the alteration of the boundaries of the Educational Districts of Kaikorai and Wakari, a meeting of the owners and occupiers of land and householders, in each of the said districts, will be held in the undermentioned places, upon Monday the 19th day of August, 1872, at half-past seven o’clock p.m., for the election of a School Committee for the remainder of the current year.
Kaikorai District—In the Schoolhouse, Kaikorai.
Wakari District—In the Schoolhouse, Wakari.
N.B.—The Kaikorai district meeting will be held in the Kaikorai Schoolhouse, and not in Roslyn Hall, as formerly advertised.

The following Education Reserves will be leased by Mr Hay, Auctioneer, Lawrence, on Monday, 19th August, immediately after the sale of Crown Lands:—
