TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Lands and Works, until noon of Friday, 9th August, 1872, for Contract No. 654.—Supply of 3000 Sleepers for the Bluff Harbour and Invercargill Railway.

Plans and Specifications may be seen and forms of Tender obtained, at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; and at the Railway Office, Invercargill.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 654.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

CLUTHA COAL FIELD.

TENDERS will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Tuesday, the 14th August, 1872, from parties willing to lease the Clutha Coal Fields, and plant connected therewith, for the term of seven years. Tenders to state the amount of rent per annum, payable half-yearly in advance.

A list of the plant can be seen at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works, Dunedin, and at the Police Station, Balclutha.

For further information apply at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

NOTICE to Tenders for Public Works under the Provincial Government.—Tenders for Contracts will not be considered unless they are according to forms attached to specifications, and the schedules of prices properly filled up.

Invercargill to commence their duties after the Christmas vacation.

Applications must be received not later than the first week in September, 1872, and be accompanied by testimonials and references, to be addressed to the “Chairman, Invercargill School Committee, Invercargill, New Zealand.”

EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS.—In consequence of the alteration of the boundaries of the Educational Districts of Kaikorai and Wakari, a meeting of the owners and occupiers of land and householders, in each of the said districts, will be held in the undermentioned places, upon Monday the 19th day of August, 1872, at half-past seven o’clock p.m., for the election of a School Committee for the remainder of the current year.

Kaikorai District—In the Schoolhouse, Kaikorai.

Wakari District—In the Schoolhouse, Wakari.

GAZETTE.—A Special Gazette, No. 803, was published on the afternoon of Wednesday, 24th July, 1872.

CLYDE School House for Sale.—To be sold by auction, at the Survey Office, Clyde, upon Wednesday, the 21st August, 1872, immediately after the sale of Crown Lands, Section 1e, Block I, Clyde Township, with the buildings thereon used as a Schoolhouse. For conditions of sale, apply to A. Christophers, Esq., Clyde.

EDUCATION RESERVES.

The following Education Reserves will be leased by auction, at the rooms of Mr. Samuel Shrimski, Oamaru, on Monday, the 5th day of August, immediately after the sale of Crown Lands there:

Section 4, Block XVII, Oamaru Town
Do 2, do VII, Hampden Town
Sections 54 & 57, Block IV, Otepopo, 160 acres
Do 21 & 22, do IX, Awamoko, 238 acres

The lease of the last mentioned sections will be sold subject to valuation for improvements. Copies of Regulations and conditions of lease may be had on application at the Education Office.

EAST Taieri Road District.—Tenders wanted for 200 yards of good blue Metal, more or less, for Brown’s Road, East Taieri; to be laid down as directed. Tenders to be left with Mr. James Aitken, or Charles Findlay, on or before the 7th of August, 1872.

TENDERS will be received till noon of Saturday, 10th August, at the Mount Cargill School, for between 30 and 40 Chains of Fencing. Specifications to be seen at the Schoolhouse. Note.—Lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.—JAMES M’INTOSH, Clerk, School Committee. July 27, 1872.

APPLICATIONS are invited for the offices of Head Master, Second Master, and School Mistress for the Invercargill Grammar School about to be established.

The salary of the Head Master will be not less than £300 per annum, with residence. The salary of the Second Master not less than £175 per annum, and that of the School Mistress, not less than £100 per annum.

The successful applicants will be expected to be in Invercargill to commence their duties after the Christmas vacation.

EDUCATION RESERVES.—The following Education Reserves will be leased by auction, at the rooms of Mr. Hay, Auctioneer, Lawrence, on Monday, 19th August, immediately after the sale of Crown Lands:

Section 20, block XXVII, Lawrence, 1r.
