my friends and the public, that I, until I obtain
suitable premises, shall carry on business on my own
account, under the style of W. Stavely and Co., in the
offices of the late firm.

heretofore existing between Joseph Edmonds and
James Reid, as Storekeepers at Serpentine, was dissolved
on the 29th June, 1872.

It is also further notified that Mr. Joseph Edmonds
will receive and pay all moneys and accounts in con-
nection with the abovementioned partnership.

NOTICE.—I, the undersigned, Thomas Mathieson,
of the Arrow District, in the Province of Otago,
New Zealand, gold miner, hereby make application to
register “The New River Water Race Company” (Re-
gistered) under the provisions of “The Mining
Companies Limited Liability Act 1865,” and I do
solemnly and sincerely declare that the following state-
ment is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true
in every particular, namely—

  1. The name and style of the Company is the New
    River Water Race Company.

  2. The place of operations is at the Arrow District,
    near Arrowtown.

  3. The nominal capital of the Company is Two
    Thousand pounds in Two Thousand shares of one
    pound each.

  4. The amount already paid up is One Thousand
    pounds.

  5. The name of the manager is Thomas Mathieson.

  6. The office of the Company is at Arrowtown.

  7. The names and several residences of the Share-
    holders, and the number of shares held by each at this
    date are as follows:—

Annual Election of Councillors and Auditors.

PUBLIC Notice is hereby given, that the nomi-
nation of candidates for the several offices of
Councillors and Auditors for the year ending 1st August,
1873, will be declared on Wednesday, 24th July in-
stants, at the terrace of the Provincial Government
Chambers, Water street, at the Issued room.

Nominations must be in form of Schedule D of the
“Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” and
be lodged at the Town Clerk’s office, Manse street,
where blank forms may be had, on or before noon of
the day herein fixed for the declaration.

The Councillors retiring by rotation are—

For South Ward—Councillor James Walker.
For High Ward—Councillor Andrew Mercer.
For Bell Ward—Councillor Alex. R. Livingston.
For Leith Ward—Councillor John Barnes.
