PUBLIC NOTICE.

Under Section 1, Regulation IV.

WHEREAS I have received sufficient proof that the portion of the Otago Gold Field, described in the Schedule hereto, is for the whole or the greater part of an inferior character as regards the value of its gold deposits: Now, therefore, I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of Miners' Rights in claims of the undermentioned size, viz.:

One (1) acre for each holder of a Miner's Right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six (6) acres altogether.

Given under my hand at Naseby, this 11th day of July, 1872.

SCHEDULE.

All that portion of the Otago Gold Field, situate at spur on east side of Coal Pit Gully, comprising three (3) acres, more or less, and bounded on the north by Surprise Company's dam, 80 yards; on the south by Lewis' dam, 80 yards; on the east by Surprise Gully, 160 yards; and on the west by Coal Pit Gully, 160 yards.

All that portion of the Otago Gold Field, situate at Cemetery Hill, Naseby, and comprising four (4) acres, more or less, and bounded as follows, viz.:—on the north by Morris's dam, 170 yards; on the south by Crown Lands, 110 yards; on the east by old workings, 110 yards; and on the west by old workings, 110 yards.

NOTICE is hereby given, that Henry Shaw, Lessee of Mining Lease of Section 14, Glenorchy District, has applied to have about two acres of land withdrawn from the said lease, and the Government have agreed to cancel the portion described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

All that area of ground situate in the bed of the Upper Moonlight, being portion of original Section 14, Glenorchy Survey District, embracing two (2) acres, more or less, extending in length from the eastern end of said Section to a point ten chains distant up the Moonlight Creek, and having a uniform breadth of two (2) chains.

IT is hereby notified that

has been placed on the list of qualified Surveyors for the Province of Otago.

BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A WOOL-PACK AND SACK MANUFACTORY IN OTAGO.

THE Provincial Government being desirous of encouraging the manufacture of Wool-packs and Sacks, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise, and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £1000 as under:—

On the erection of buildings and machinery to the value of at least £2000—£500.

On the production of Sacks or Wool packs to a value of not less than £500—£250.

On the production of a further quantity of Sacks or Wool-packs to the value of not less than £1000—£250.

The cloth in each case to be produced by machinery permanently established in the Province, and to be manufactured either wholly or to a large extent from Phormium Tenax, or other indigenous plants, or from other material grown in the Province.

Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until the 10th of October, 1872, and should state the estimated cost and productive power of the machinery proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £1000 to produce sacks and woolpacks to the value of £1400 within three years from the date on which their offer is accepted.

The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.

BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A GLASS BOTTLE MANUFACTORY.

THE Provincial Government being desirous of encouraging the manufacture of Glass Bottles in Otago, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise, and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £300, as under:—

On the erection of building and plant, of a value of not less than £500—£100.

On production of 100 gross of bottles—£100.

On production of a further quantity of 200 gross—£100.

Offers will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin; and should state the estimated cost of the works proposed to be erected, the date on which the same will be in operation, and that the parties are prepared to be bound in the sum of £350 to produce 300 gross of Bottles within two years from the date on which the tender is accepted.

The Government does not bind itself to accept any offer.

BONUS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PAPER MANUFACTORY.

THE Provincial Government being desirous of promoting the introduction and establishment of a Paper Manufactory in Otago, is prepared to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise; and is further prepared to pay a bonus of £1500 as under—such bonus to be in addition to a bonus of £2,500 offered by the General Government for the first 100 tons of printing paper produced by machinery permanently established and working in the Colony:—
