IMPOUNDED on the 28th day of June, 1872, by William Sloane, Pleasant River, one chestnut horse, no visible brand, supposed to belong to Samuel Lees, for trespassing on grass paddocks, for which 1s. damage is claimed; and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound at Palmerston on Friday, 2nd day of August, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—J. Annual Election of Councillors and Auditors.

PUBLIC Notice is hereby given, that the nomination of candidates for the several offices of Councillors and Auditors for the year ending 1st August, 1873, will be declared on Wednesday, 24th July instant, at the terrace of the Provincial Government Chambers, Water street, at the hour of noon.

Nominations must be in form of Schedule D of the “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance, 1865,” and be lodged at the Town Clerk’s office, Manse street, where blank forms may be had, on or before noon of the day herein fixed for the declaration.

The Councillors retiring by rotation are:—

IMPOUNDED on the 9th day of July, 1872, by Mr. Turnbull, North Taieri, one bay mare, branded WE near shoulder, with horse foal at foot, supposed to belong to Mr. Auld, Dunedin, for trespassing on grass paddocks, for which no damage is claimed; and in default of being released the above mare will be sold at the Public Pound at East Taieri on Friday, the 2nd day of August, 1872, at twelve o’clock noon.—JAMES PURVIS, Poundkeeper of the East Taieri Pound.
