NOTICE

Of certain Land in the Province of Otago having been reserved as an Endowment for the University of Otago.

By His Honor, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS the Provincial Council of Otago have under and by virtue of section LII of the "Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866," recommended that the lands hereinafter described should be reserved for an endowment for the University of Otago; and it is expedient that the said lands should be so reserved for that purpose:

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me in this behalf, do hereby publish and declare that I have made and dedicated the lands hereinafter described, a Reserve for an endowment for the University of Otago (that is to say)—

All that area in the Province of Otago, containing by estimation one hundred thousand (100,000) acres, more or less, being Run 1 of C, 2 of C, and part of Run 189, bounded towards the north-east and east by the Waitaki River, and its Ohau branch, two hundred and eight thousand (208,000) links; towards the south and south-west by a Reserve, and the Ahuriri River, one hundred and twelve thousand (112,000) links; and towards the west by Run 3 of C, and the remaining part of Run 189, one hundred and twelve thousand (112,000) links, (be all the aforesaid linkages more or less) be reserved and set apart as an endowment for the Otago University.

Dated at Dunedin, this fifteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

"OTAGO ROADS ORDINANCE 1871."

Election of Road Boards. Appointment of Polling Places.

WHEREAS by the "Otago Roads Ordinance 1871," by sections one hundred and one hundred and one, it is enacted that in and for each district and subdivision of districts, within fifteen days after the constitution thereof under the said Ordinance, the Superintendent shall, in and for every district and subdivision of districts, appoint a sufficient number of polling places for such district and subdivisions thereof, at which the poll shall be taken at all elections held for the same:

Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do hereby appoint the places after mentioned to be the polling places for the respective districts and subdivisions of districts after mentioned, at which the poll shall be taken at all elections held for the same until duly altered or varied, of which notice is hereby given to all concerned.
