NOTICE to APPLICANTS for UNSURVEYED LAND under "Otago Waste Lands Act 1866."

The sections in the subjoined Schedule being now surveyed, the applicants are informed that the Waste Land Board will give its decision on their applications at this Office, on Wednesday, the 12th day of June, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon, on or before which day, objections to the survey, if any, must be made. In the event of the applications being granted, the purchase money may be paid forthwith.

It is hereby notified to the applicants, whose names appear in the subjoined Schedules, that the Waste Land Board has declared them to be the purchasers of the sections set opposite their names in the Schedule, and that the purchase money of these sections must be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue in Dunedin, on or before Wednesday, the 12th day of June, 1872, otherwise the applications will be deemed withdrawn, cancelled, and void, and the deposit made at the time of lodging the application will be forfeited.

XX. AIKIKAIWA STATION. -- Notice is hereby given, that the lease for 10 years of Run No. 177, containing 23,000 acres, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Land Office, Dunedin, on Monday, the 15th day of July next, at noon, in terms of clause 78 of the Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866, at the upset price of halfpenny per acre. Rental to be assessment of 3s. 6d per head on cattle depastured. Power reserved to increase assessment, if understocked. Lease to commence 6th February, 1873.

Applications for sections will be received for sections 17, 18, 19, 20, block III, Hawkesbury District, containing respectively 31a. 1r. 34p.; 69a. 0r. 29p.; 39a. 0r. 11p.; 29a. 2r. 27p.; section 2 of 151, block VI, Akatore District, containing 75a. 3r. 24p.; 59a. 0r. 8p.; 20 acres, 42a. 1r. 14p.; section 57, block III, Portobello District, containing 19a. 3r. 30p.; sections 102 and 103, block V, Otepopo District, containing respectively 18a. 1r. 7p., 18a. 1r. 32p.; section 2 of 63, block V, Moeraki District, containing 38a. 2r. 28p., formerly reserved for education and other purposes.

TUESDAY, 11th June, at noon.

NOTICE. -- Objections to the granting of a Mining Lease for one year over the ground contained within the following boundaries, will be heard before the Waste Land Board at Invercargill, on the 11th June next, at twelve o’clock.

All that piece of land in the Reserve, known as the Ferry Reserve, Waimumu Hundred, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, bounded west by main road from Invercargill to Dunedin, south by the Waimumu; east by Mataura River; north by an east and west line to include required acreage.


The undernamed Sections in Elbow Township (Oreti River) will be sold by auction at Mr. George Fletcher’s Accommodation House, Elbow, at noon on Monday, the 8th day of July, 1872.
