IMPOUNDED on the 7th May, 1872, by order of John Innes, Ranger of the Northern Hundred, for trespassing on Crown lands; 2s. per head damages claimed on 52 head of Cattle; the following remain unclaimed:—

One roan Cow and Calf, branded C off rump; one Roan Cow, like V under horse-shoe off side, like horse-shoe off hip, H near rump; one red Cow, like O off rump, slit off ear; one brindle Cow, + O near side, O near rump, F off hip, HL off side, back half off ear; one red Cow and Calf, like smoke through triangle off rump; one red and white cow, like stroke through triangle off rump; one white cow, like W near loin; one white Heifer, no visible brand; one red Heifer Calf, tipped both ears, no visible brand; one red Calf, no visible brand; one black Alderney Bull, no visible brand; one red steer, O near side, slit near ear; one red Heifer, no visible brand; one strawberry Heifer and Calf, no visible brand; one red Cow, white back, HH near side; one red calf, no brand; one strawberry Heifer and Calf, JW near rump, like FT off rump, slit in both ears. In default of being released, the above Cattle will be sold on Friday, the 31st May, 1872, at noon, at Papakaio Pound, to defray expenses.—JAMES DALGETY, Poundkeeper.


IMPOUNDED on the 9th May, 1872, by Captain M’Kenzie, Glenkenich Station, one black draught horse, saddle marked, lame on near hind leg, star in forehead, branded like GB conjoined near shoulder; one light white draught mare, long switch tail, saddle marked, no visible brand, notice sent to supposed owners, for trespassing on Glenkenich Station, for which £1 each damages is claimed, and in default of being released, the above horses will be sold at the public pound at Tapanui, on Friday, the 31st May, 1872, at twelve o’clock noon.—A. MACSSON, Poundkeeper of the Glenkenich pound.


IMPOUNDED on the 3rd day of May, 1872, by Colin Holmes, adjoining the Henley Estate, one bay Entire Horse, with no visible brands; supposed to belong to Piercy Ben, for trespassing on his land, and damaging a mare, for which £20 is claimed; and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound, at Outram, on Friday, the 31st day of May, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—SAMUEL O’KANE, Poundkeeper of the Outram Pound.


IMPOUNDED on the 8th May, 1872, by David Carson, Esq., one chestnut riding mare, white star on forehead, branded like S on near shoulder, rope round neck, owner unknown, for trespassing on his paddock, and in default of being released, the above mare will be sold at the public pound at Tokomairiro, on Friday, the 31st May, 1872, at twelve o’clock noon.—JAMES GOODALL, Poundkeeper of the Tokomairiro pound.


IMPOUNDED on the 7th May, 1872, Mr. L. M’Lean, one bay draught horse, branded like H H near shoulder; one bay saddle mare, branded like CA conjoined off shoulder, owners unknown, for trespassing on Bellamy Run, for which two shillings each damages is claimed, and in default of being released, the above horses will be sold at the Public Pound, Outram, on Friday, the 31st May, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—SAMUEL O’KANE, Poundkeeper.

THE undersigned, Robert Grigor, do hereby make application to register the Havelock Hill Gold Mining and Water Race Company, Registered under the provisions of “The Mining Companies’ Limited Liability Acts, 1865 and 1869”; and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is to the best of my knowledge and belief, true in every particular, namely:—

  1. The name and style of the Company is the Havelock Hill Gold Mining and Water Race Company.
  2. The place of operations is at Mauka Creek.
  3. The nominal capital of the Company is £1440, in 72 paid up shares of £20 each.
  4. The amount already paid up in cash is £1440.
  5. The name of the Manager is Robert Grigor.
  6. The office of the Company is at the White Horse Hotel, Tokomairiro.
  7. The names and several residences of the shareholders, and the number of shares held by each at this date, are as follows:—
