TENDERS

Tenders will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Works until noon of Tuesday, 29th March, for—

Contract No. 633—Construction of Bridge across the Shotover, near Arthur’s Point.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at the Police Station, Queenstown.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works, Tender for Contract No. 633."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

CHARTERS.—Bell Hill Works, &c.—Tenders will be received at the Provincial Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Friday, 22nd March, 1872, for carting for six months, commencing 1st April next.

Particulars may be obtained from Mr Caldwell, Dunedin Gaol.

TUESDAY, 26th March, noon.

POLICE DEPARTMENT, &c.

Tenders for supplying the undermentioned Police Stations and other Government Departments in the Districts aftermentioned with Forage, for the twelve months ending 31st March, 1873, will be received at the Government Buildings, until noon of Tuesday, 26th March, 1872:—

NOTICE.—TENDERS wanted for Road works by the Waiwera Road Board. Plans and specifications can be seen at the Waiwera Hotel up to the 8th of March, 1872.—MATTHEW PATERSON.

TENDERS

Tenders are invited for the following works in the Purakanui Road District:—

1st.—Widening and hitching the present formation between Mr Sime’s and Mopanui.

2nd.—The formation of about 35 chains, more or less, of sledge road upon Mopanui.

3rd.—The formation of a footpath around the head of Purakanui Bay.

For the two first-mentioned, contractors will meet at Mr Sime’s at 1 p.m., on Monday, March 11, and be shown the work and specifications; and for the footpath at Mr Bolt’s at 3 p.m. on the same day.

Tenders to be lodged with the undersigned by noon on the 12th.—JOSEPH MAWSON, Clerk, Purakanui Road Board.

Also for quarrying, carting, breaking, spreading, and blinding about forty-five yards of metal on Hooper’s Inlet road. Sealed tenders to be sent in to the Clerk, on or before Saturday, the 16th instant.

William Dickson will point out the works on Friday, the 15th instant, from 12 o’clock noon until 2 p.m.

Also Tenders wanted for reforming 10 chains, more or less, of roadway on the road leading from Portobello Bay to Papanui Bay. Mr. John Wishart will point out the work. Tenders to be at per chain, and the metal at per yard. Sealed tenders to be sent in to the Clerk, on or before Saturday, the 16th instant. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.—W. WEST TAIERI ROAD DISTRICT.

Tenders are invited for the undermentioned works:—

1st. Formation of Sutherland’s Road.

2nd. Gravelling portion of Main Road through the Township of Outram.

3rd. Gravelling portion of Road from Outram to Greytown.

Plans and specifications may be inspected at the residence of James Shand, Esquire, with whom tenders may be lodged up till noon of Saturday the 16th instant.

Tenders to be addressed to the Chairman of the West Taieri Local Road Board.


WANTED—A Schoolmistress for the Waikouaiti School. Salary, £100 per annum. Applications with testimonials to be lodged with the undersigned, on or before the 15th March, 1872.—J. SMITH, Chairman of School Committee.

TEACHER wanted for Morton School.—In consequence of the present teacher leaving for California, Applications, with testimonials, from qualified teachers will be received by the undersigned up to the 31st March instant. Salary £75, with house, firewood, and school fees.—D. BRUNTON, Secretary.

WANTED.—A Teacher for the Side School, Manuka Creek. Salary, £50 per annum and School Fees. Applications, with Testimonials, to be lodged with the undersigned, on or before the 1st April.—EDWIN LEES, Clerk to School Committee, Manuka Creek.

WANTED.—A Teacher for the Side School, Kuri Bush. Salary, £50 per annum, with School Fees and Residence. Applications, with Testimonials, to be sent in not later than 26th instant.—SAMUEL STEVENS, Kuri Bush, Otokia.

SCHOOLMASTER wanted for the South Akatore Side School. Salary, £75 per year, and School Fees, with Residence and 10 acres of land. Applications, with Testimonials, to be lodged with the undersigned, who will give full particulars on or before the 1st of April, 1872.—JOHN FRANCIS JUN., Clerk to School Committee, South Akatore, Feb. 24, 1872.

CORRECTION.—In last week’s Gazette, page 132, in fourth line from top of first column, and thirty-eighth line from top of second column, for seventy-one read seventy-two.
