  1. Five sheep may run instead of every head of great cattle.

  2. Any license-holder who, prior to the 1st day of June next, shall not have depastured on the Hundred the full quantity of the stock he is entitled to depasture, may at any time before that date place such number of stock thereon as (together with any) will make the total quantity depastured by him equal to that in the Statement headed “Total Cattle Allowed to be Depastured,” apportioned to him: provided that within three days after such additional stock shall have been placed on the Hundred, a return shall be forwarded to the Waste Land Board, showing the number, description, and brands of such additional stock.

  3. Any license-holder may be required by the Ranger at any time to make a return in the form provided in the Schedule to these Regulations, and any person who shall fail to make such return for a period of twenty-four hours after being required so to do, or who shall make a false return, shall be liable to a penalty of £20.

  4. An assessment of 3s. 6d. for great cattle, and 7d. for small, will be payable to the Provincial Treasurer, at his office in Dunedin, on or before the 1st day of June 1872, for all cattle depastured on the Waste Lands within any Hundred.

I, .......................... of .......................... do hereby solemnly declare, to the best of my knowledge and belief, that the above is a correct return of the acreage occupied (or owned) of the land unenclosed, and of the stock owned by me (or, under my charge), and which were actually depasturing (or, which I desire to depasture) on the .......................... Hundred on (or after) the .......................... day of .......................... 1872; and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true in every respect.
